Evening thread?

Re: Evening thread?

  • Hello!  I had a really nice, relaxing day.  H is over visiting some friends (playing video games) and I spent the day resting and reading (finished two books today and I'm about to start another).

Ciara, I love the new picture!  Edmund is so adorable.

  • Kjb-I just finished the wine and all I have in the fridge is blue moon. I guess thats ok since I try not to drink too much once the week starts anyway.

<div>Umm, that's what your online friends are for. </div><div>

</div><div>I imagine it would be good with o.j., since it was always delicious with orange pop.  </div><div>
</div><div>Now they are making it in more flavors too, like orange whipped cream, and cherry whipped cream.  </div>

  • Hiya...
Had a fantastic dinner with H (steak, baked potato, asparagus, wine) after a hike this afternoon.  It was muddy.  I'll probably be heading to bed soon cause I only got 4 hours of sleep today after working last night.
  • GG, the weather is actually really bad here, but it was so pretty! Joplin MO (about an hour and a half from here) got hit by a tornado really hard this evening

  • We have vodka, red stag, tequila, rumplemintz, rum, long island mix and soju. I had vodka and lemonade the other night and it was delicious.

<div>Replace the baked potato with sweet potato fries, and the wine for vodka, and that was our dinner! </div>

[QUOTE]Beach I completely agree about Sister Wives.  They're just a normal family.  Not the lifestyle I would choose but if they're happy, they're not hurting anyone, let them be.

<div>I agree. </div><div>I think that they're trying to make an example of them because they chose to go on TV, and that's just not fair, but at the same time it's not super smart to go basically thumb your nose at the law by getting a TV show...</div>

  • yeah I saw that they make the flavored whipped cream ones, one day I'll try them. For now I like the plain.
Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll ask next time I'm at the booze store, which will be a while since the FI convinced me to go to the NEX with him last month and buy 300 bucks worth of alcohol since it's tax free. He claimed we were low, in other words we were down to two types of every liquor instead of 5.
We have yet to make a mixed drink since we've gone. Way to go FI. lol
  • I saw that about that town Jill.  I think 'obliterated' was the word used?  it's jsut starting to get nasty here.  according to the radar, right about 9:15-9:30 we will be in the middle of the 'red' zone.

  • Yours sounds yummy too Dani :).

Sorry for the drive by, but I'm going to bed.  I just caught myself dozing off in front of the computer.  Probably catch you all tomorrow.
  • What brand makes whipped cream vodka? I looked at one of the liqour stores on the peninsula and they didn't have any.

  • Yeah Kelly, that's about how I would describe it. The pictures they're showing on the news are really bad. The hospital there was destroyed.

  • Beachy-I will be drinking wtih online friends, but I need IRL friends too. I get sick of sitting at home and need to go out somewhere to have a few drinks etc. I guess I could go by myself, I just never have.

    Jill-yeah that weather is awful.

I made a whole roast chicken today (only a 2 1/2lb) in the crockpot. I figure I can then use the chicken for my salads and such for the rest of the week. I'm such a Suzie homemaker at times.

  • ugh. you all are making me feel like a complete slacker for not making a full meal. The man is gone for a couple weeks so I'm a giant slacker in the food department. Canned Chili --> Bowl --> Microwave. Dinner.
lol! I swear I'm a great cook when he's around... just not when I'm the only person eating it. :P
  • Yeah I never went to the bars or restaurants alone either.  I made 2 good friends while H was gone, whose H's are on the same ship, and we would go out to dinner about once a week or every other week.  It is nice just to get out every once in a while.

I never do the whole chickens, but I would cook chicken breast all the time while H was gone.  I would make like 5 or 6 pieces at a time, and then use them in salads and pasta for a couple days.

  • Hey ladies!  I'm around, also watching Harry Potter (yeah, ggirl).  I really love HP.  And right now I want to strangle Delores Umbridge.

<div>I was all about easy dinners when he was gone.  I would cook the chicken breast once so I could eat it for a few days.  Also, I ate a ton of the flavored chicken sausages because they are super easy to make.  My favorite dinners were a bag of Ready Rice, cut up sausage, then I would pour over a mix of half a cup of light alfredo sauce and half a can of diced tomatoes.  Delicious, and only takes 10 minutes.</div>

  • I never did the whole chicken either, but I thought might as well try it. It turned out good, except I cooked it too long so it was a little bit dry. Lesson learned.

first-I cook the whole meals because I don't want to just not cooking and eating whatever. I feel like that would make me more depressed at times. At least this way I have a nice meal for myself and I can experiment with different things.

I've contacted a few girls whose H's are Marines, but they are soo much younger than me. I know thats not a big deal really considering one of my best friends is 22, but still, I want a variety of ages. I know that one of FI's buddy's girl lives in this same complex, but I have never met her. I will soon though because FI is shipping stuff to my place that has stuff for her from her boyfriend.

  • Hi all. I'm drinking something that turned out way crappier than I was hoping and watching Family Guy. Also trying to think back to the last time I thought Family Guy was funny.

    Hi ladies!

I start my internship tomorrow, and I'm both excited and terrified. I had this past week off, so I got to relax a little, but I could totally go for some more time off.

whipped cream vodka is yummy with orange soda.

I just heard some thunder, so I guess storms are coming our way too.

  • Firsttime -- no shame.  H ordered Chinese tonight.  I haven't cooked for most of the week, since I haven't felt like eating and H is all too happy to just cook for himself on those occasions.  He makes all the food that I won't eat.

  • We had take out Chinese for dinner...for the 2nd time this weekend Embarassed
  • dnbeach- Thank you for making me feel better, haha. Glad I'm not the only one. I'm all about turkey chili, veggies to throw in those ziploc steam-bags, and deli meats. Things I don't have to use the oven for basically.  At least it means that I eat really well (or at least better) while he's away.

Also, why do I not see HP anywhere in the guide? There is nothing else to watch.
