Centerpieces

Wow feel like I haven't had time to post anything for forever. I started job 2 this week at a coffee place so I have been hella busy

My sister and My FI are here this weekend and I believe I figured out my centerpieces. They are some small fish bowls with a wavy edge and 8 inch tall vases with the water beads in them and LED lights. I live the way they look. I will post pictures tomorrow. Possibly putting a mirror under them too

Think I can make all of them 15 tables for maybe 7080

Re: Centerpieces

  • I feel the same way. Haven't had much time lately to post anything. I am kind of doing something similar for my side centerpieces. We are having white pumpkins for our main centerpiece and then on each side having a hurricane style glass with teal LED lights and filled halfway with irredecent marbles and then filled the rest of the way with water and a teal floating candle. I don't have the candles or LED lights yet so I can't put an example together just yet, but I am hoping they will look nice.

  • I went to dollar tree today and went ahead and bought 18 vases that were 1 each. I think I found a place to get the water beads fairly cheap too. We made out own orange with food coloring and water ... The clear ones soaked up the orange water and made a cool orange shade that I love and actually bled less than the ready made red ones

  • Were doing 1/2 tables with black lanterns and 1/2 hurricane glasses filled with fall accents like nuts, dried berries etc (saw this idea in Redbook last month). I'm also scattering fake leaves around them and adding a few tiny pumpkins.... FYI All the stores like Walmart have fall items big time on sale, so stock up now!
  • Here is an illustration of what my hurricane centerpieces are going to look like...

  • save the picture on your computer and when you go to post there is a little picture of a tree on the bottom.  click that and it should pop up a box to browse for and add the photo!

  • We're using these as our centerpieces:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U7ODL2/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Our venue has small tables (6's and 4's) so we have 40 tables all together and they're small so we can't do big centerpieces.  I was able to get free shipping on these and it came out to $600.  I'm probably going to go to the store and get small frames for the table numbers and some starfish to put on the tables as well and we'll call it a day.
  • Once I found my vases last night I was super happy - now theonly thing is I have to store 18 vases for the next 10 + months - that will be the pain
I think we are going to stick to "making " the orange water beads with food coloring - using clear beads and then buy the red beads - and trying now how long it takes for the beads to dry out so i know how far in advance I can mix the beads and fill the vases 0 then all i will need to do it drop in the LED lights

I was hoping a glow stick stuck down the middle of the centerpeices would make them glow enough but it doesn't   the glow sticks aren't bright enough so each centerpiece will take 3 submersible LED lights - so now I need to find them xtra cheap - but now that I know what I want / need and got the vases so cheap - I can hunt for super cheap LEDs
