Affordable vacation rentals or hotels in Maui?? Any recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations for nice places to stay in west Maui?  Our honeymoon will be in early September.  We are very open to staying in a vacation rental so we can save money by cooking, but if we find a great deal on a hotel thats fine too!!

    We had a group of our wedding guests stay at the Polynesian Shores (they had 1 bdr rates for 99$ a night last summer - they're at 112$ now). It's right on the ocean. Seriously. They also have grills set up, so you can cook yourself a feast and listen to the waves coming in at the same time.

    Also - you're away from the crowds of Kaanapali, so there's a lot more peace and quiet there. Kahana is a great area for inexpensive condos that are actually oceanfront.

    Thank you!  We are trying to keep the room at less than 200 a night...so these are great options!
