Invitation wording - groom's parents paying for wedding

I am about to order my invitations and I have a question. This is not my first wedding. My father helped pay for my first wedding and won't be contributing to this one. My fiance's parents are actually paying for the entire thing. Should the wording on the invitation be "Mr. and Mrs. XXX request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their son..." I have never seen it done that way. Or should it be something like "Together with their families..." Please help!

    Are your parents hosting?  Note, that's not the same as "are your parents paying?"

    Whose names appear on the invitation has nothing whatsoever to do with who's paying for the wedding.  The names that appear on the invitation should involve the couple and anyone acting as the "point persons" of the wedding, meaning that they issue invitations, greet guests, answer questions, and receive responses to invitations.  If your fiance's parents are doing this but yours are not, financial contributions or none notwithstanding, then I'd put your fiance's parents' names on the invitation; if your parents are also doing this, then their names should also appear, or you can use "together with their families."

     I'd ask the parents if they have a preference for wording. 

    Personal preference for me is omitting the "their son/daughter/children" so it would say: Mr & Mrs. XXX request the honor of your presence at the marriage of Your Name & His Name. If you decide to use his parents names, just use your last names and people will get it. Together with their families would work too.

    If FILs are hosting, then go with

    Mr & Mrs Joe Smith request the honor of your presence at the marriage of

    Casey Ann Doe
    to
    John Robert Smith

    Date
    Time
    Place

    But if you parents are going to assist in the hosting, I would use "Together with their Parents"
