OOT Bags. Good idea?

Here's why I ask. We are getting married on a Sunday in Ft Myres, FL. Then Monday morning flying to our Honeymoon. Some, maybe most, guests will fly in Friday or Saturday and leave Monday. Would the bags be worth it for such a short trip?
TIA!!

  • You could do smaller bags. For example, maybe just beach towels, sunscreen and a welcome letter. Not matter what, I think a welcome letter is a really nice touch. You can thank your guests for joining you and give them the locations and times again (maybe even include a map with locations marked).

  • I agree with PP, maybe make it on a smaller scale.  I think the beach towels and sunscreen are perfect and the welcome letter and/or timeline.
  • OOT bags are a special touch.  We're not doing them because it doesn't make sense for us to give our guests a bag during the cruise thats filled with stuff that they're already going to have packed for the trip.
Instead we're going to have a bottle of wine and a thank you card delivered to each guests room.
It's really up to you and what fits your budget.

  • I agree, smaller scale makes sense-beach towel and sunscreen are good ideas. A welcome letter helps everyone to know what will be happening and when and where it is happening.

  • I struggle with this too.  Some of my guests are going to get there before me and some will only be there Fri-Sun.  I am thinking of skipping it
  • i think its nice to give something. whether its a beach towel or a bag full of goodies, i think its a nice way to thank them for coming all the way down for the wedding. they may get favors at the reception but i see it like an overall thank you.

  • I agree with PP too. maybe make the OOT bags a little smaller....but a welcome letter is always good!
The OOT bags were a big hit at our wedding!!! Everyone loved that I took the time & effort to put them together and brought everything with me to Aruba to give to them!
  • I don't think the length of stay should matter.  I have gotten an OOT bag almost everytime I've stayed in a hotel for a wedding.  All of these have been a one night stay.  The bag would just have some snacks, drinks and something local to the wedding location.
