Dancing Shoes--Basket and signage...DONE!!!

First, let me say that this gold metallic paper I am using does not photograph well. It's starting to concern me. It either looks grey or SUPER glittery in photos. In person it is a very pretty shimmer.

Anyway...here is my basket and my sign. Still need to attach the sign:

I am going to tie these size tags to each pair with a ribbon

YAY for checking something off the list!!!!!

I know as soon as I post this I am going to see that my siggy is still stuck in March. I feel like a slacker every time I post something. LOL.

Awesome, We are doing a flip flop basket too a tip someone gave me was to tie the pairs together with a single pull bow so people do not have a hard time separating them love your sign n numbers !
  • Thanks for the tip! How many pairs are you having compared to your number of guests?

  • Love!

We weren't planning on doing a flip flop basket, but then our venue told us that they recommend it.  The venue has marble floors and they do not allow guests to be barefoot because there if something breaks on the floor (glasses, dishes, etc) they do not want to be responsible for a barefoot dancer hurting themselves.  I went to Old Navy and found flip flops for $2 a pair, so I figured why not.

I'm also curious as to the # of guests to flip flop ratio.  I don't know how many flip flops to buy.

  • I only bought 15 pairs (5 each of size 7,8 and 9). We will have approx 110 guests. I figure 1/2 will be men and not all of the women will dance and/or need alternative shoes. If I have 55 women then only about 27% get shoes. HA.

  • Hmmm...right now I only have 6 pairs, I'm trying to buy a little at a time and I'm waiting to see if Old Navy has a $1 flip flop sale.  I also bought sizes 7,8,9.  I'm also going to give my bridal party flip flops in their gift bags, so they won't affect the guest flip flop count.  I was thinking maybe 20 pairs for guests (about 175-200 guests at our wedding).  My mom keeps saying not to buy too many (she thought 6 was enough LOL), but I don't want to run out...or be stuck with tons of extras.

I did the same thing, expect I also got one pair of size 6 since I have a few friends with tiny feet and one size 11 as I have one firend with giant feet. My breakdown ended up being 1 size six, 3 size seven, 4 size eight, 4 size nine, 2 size ten, 1 size eleven.
