It's Hump Day

How is everyone?

Last night was a lazy night- did some homework, took Riff for a run, and then passed out by 8 lol.

I snapped at H this morning, because he knows I have class tonight and was going to heat up the leftovers from last night for dinner really quick when I got home tongiht because I won't have time to cook( I get home at 5 and have to be to class by 6) and he decides he's going to take them for lunch, I'm like REALLY WTH???? I probably overreacted a bit due to pms but his absentmindedness really bothers me sometimes.

Re: It's Hump Day

  • lol - hey Britt. Sometimes their brains don't work the same way as ours. He probably didn't think anything of it. I wish I could get FI to take leftovers to work! All he wants is sandwiches!

Had a good workout last night, and ate above my calories for the first time. I always struggle to eat enough - I'm working on enjoying food. Sounds silly, I know, but it's never been a priority. Since moving here and taking a more active approach to my health/losing weight/getting in shape eating better is becoming more important.

I'm home with DD today. No school for her = mid-week break for me!

  • Morning ladies! FI & I have a meeting with the UU church today and I realized we haven't actually talked about what kind of ceremony we want... whoops. He's already at work, so I guess we'll just wing it.

I'm off to go steam the floors. Anyone else have vacuum & steamer combo? I'm obsessed with mine- makes washing the floors so easy.
  • Oy vey.  I'm tired.

New kitten think she's gonna train me to have a real baby by waking me up at 1am, 3:30am and 6am.  This has been going on for a week.

Good morning!  This full week of work is killing me.  I just don't want to be at work.

I swear I'm losing my mind lately.  I planned on putting the chicken in the crock pot yesterday before work.  Completely forgot.  Same deal today.  I suppose we'll just do pasta of some sort instead.  Hopefully I can remember the chicken tomorrow.

The temperature here is supposed to get up to 50 today, so I'm pretty excited about that.  I haven't been able to get warm lately.  I'm sitting here at my desk with my coat on.  I hear it's even supposed to near 60 degrees this weekend.  I am absolutely thrilled because that's unheard of around here in January.

<div>I don't have a combo like you do, but I am obsessed with my Dyson.  I love it so much that I actually won't even let H vacuum.  </div>

  • lls- so you think a Dyson is worth the price? the vac & steam isn't made well enough for regular use. I have a cheap vac from college that works pretty well, but I thought a dyson might be too expensive to put on a registry?
  • Anna - yuck. I remember those days with MF.

Last night, since we are in limbo between cancelling our xbox subscription and receiving our Apple TV, we decided to play a board game that we bought for Christmas for my brother, and then discovered he already had it. So we kept it. AND IT IS AWESOME. It's called Ticket to Ride, and it was so fun. I felt so nerdy geeking out over it, but it's awesome.

Went to boot camp again this morning, it's already way easier.

I have the DC25.  I read lots of reviews before I bought it and I talked to quite a few friends and family members who also owned one.  It's definitely the best vacuum I've ever used.  I love it and I think it was worth every penny.  I got it on sale at Target a few years ago.

I don't think it would hurt to register for one.  Our cookware set was close to the same price as the Dyson and several family members went in on it together.

  • Edie - It's pretty easy to learn. It starts with a huge board of North America and big cities are notated, and there are railroad paths in between them. You draw cards and then when you have enough of a certain color you can 'claim' a path. You claim paths based on the route cards that you draw, and everything has a point value. When one person runs out of rail cars, whoever has the most points wins. There is a lot of strategy involved, which I think H and I both sucked at, but we will get better.

[QUOTE]Swag, how have you been married for six months already?  I feel like the wedding just happened.

I know right??? We are totally gonna get our steakhouse on next Monday.
  • Swag, our 6 month anniversary is coming up soon too! It'll fall close to both of our birthdays, so we'll probably combine that with a dinner out to a nice place to treat ourselves. We got a gift certificate to a great restaurant in town from my parents for Christmas, so maybe we'll use that.

Lls, I can be very forgetful too. When I go to the grocery store, even it's only for 3 things, I write it down on a post-it to make sure I don't forget anything. We have a dry erase board attached to our fridge that on which I write large reminders to myself - and also cute note's to H ;). That helps me remember to do things like take my leftovers in the morning and start the laundry when I get home from work.

I made stuffed peppers for dinner last night. They're basically mini meatloafs/large meatballs stuffed into a pepper. It was delicious. Except my oven decided to stop working and not maintain 400 degrees at some point during the cooking. After 45 minutes they were supposed to be done... and the oven was barely warm. It was frustrating, but I got the oven back to temperature again and we finally ate dinner around 9pm.

  • Edie, when I get a smart phone, I'll have to check out that app. I'm hoping that if things out of the way I'm hoping they will, that a new phone and data plan will be in my future sooner than later.

  • Well, I hung my not-Vera Bradley makeup bag in the bathroom.  I quite like it since it clears a lot of stuff off the vanity.  I use one pouch for the hairbrush, another for the makeup, and the third for hair accessories.

Did anyone else watch The Mob Doctor?  We DVR most everything, so we finally watched the last four epis over Monday and Tuesday.  I was surprised that it was not picked up for another season.  The medical part of the show is totally unrealistic as most medical dramas are, but I do like watching shows/movies that are "set" in Chicago, and gangsters intrigue me.

Buzz, I thought I was the last person to not have a Smart Phone.  Maybe I'm not using mine to its full potential, but other than checking email when I'm out and about, I don't see much in it.  My H uses his to practically run his business, but I'm kind of meh about mine.
  • I'm a little late but my mornig is dragginggggggg.

I'm incredibly busy at work with stuff I don't want to do and had like 5 hours of sleep last night. Watched the Lakers vs. Rockets game and H threw a tantrum after I showed him the score. (we were watching it on our DVR) He gave me the silent treatment for 2 hours. I was like Seriously? Over the score? I literally LOL'd, I was too tired to talk to about it since I started Insanity AGAIN. for the 2nd time in 3 months. I keep getting lazy and never complete past the first month. Day two today. Yipee. NOT.

mcda - I LOVE Insanity.  I completed the whole program once.  Honestly, I saw better results in month 1 than month 2.  In month 2, the workouts are just too long.  I ended up sacrificing form out of sheer exhaustion and that's not good.

I did Insanity for quite a while (almost a year).  When I did the whole program start to finish, I followed it pretty strictly.  I kind of burnt myself out.  I continued repeating month 1 for several months after I finished the whole program, but I gave myself more breaks.

    Good luck!

ETA: Ooooh!  And I need to AW quick.  I did a live class with Shaun T!  It was pretty awesome.  Less intense than the normal workouts and he's actually a pretty cool guy.  Not bad on the eyes either...

  • Ills, props to you. I did like two days from Month 2 and and I was dying. The workouts do get longer plus waay more power jumps which are my killer. I found myself doing some super sloppy power jumps so I knew I would hurt myself.

I've just been dragging my feet with healthy eating and excersise. I think I just have to go back to running a few times a week combined with insanity.

Thank you, I need all the luck I can get. haha.

P.S. That's so cool. It must have been one nice workout. I don't mind some eye candy while workout.
