  • Re: Ovary up and get that W-2

Does the states not allow access online to get tax info?

In Canada, if you sign up then you can get all your tax info from previous jobs for that year, previous years, etc.

If that's an option, LW could go that route if they're just being dicks. Legally they have to submit it online ...
I was not aware of this.  ((SMH in annoyance at the IRS)).  I've definitely had times when that would have been super helpful.
TBF, this only works if a) the employer submits the T4 (our equivalent to W-2) electronically; b) on time by paper. Otherwise, you have to contact the CRA who gives the employer 2 weeks notice to produce said document or the business will be fined and audited.

Ugh. They’ve been after me with the Girl Scout cookies. I already bought two boxes and I refuse to buy more. They’re everywhere, at my door, at the grocery store, at work. It’s like I can’t escape.

Last night went pretty well. We actually did both a male and a female exam. The guy was great and super helpful. The woman was good too, but you could tell she was done and just wanted to leave by the time we got to interact with her.

Today hopefulllyyyy SO’s sister and her bf don’t flake out on getting the rest of the stuff from my apartment. Literally all that is left is the two boxes for them that I can’t lift on my own, and the couch. I want to get rid of my keys already.
I'm so curious about who the people are who sign up for these? Do they get paid, or are there exams free? So many questions.
Oh no, they get paid a ton of money. Last night one of the students in my group asked the woman how much she gets paid and she said she probably shouldn’t say. I mentioned that my research online revealed a couple people who said they made $125*/hr doing it, and she said she wouldn’t do it for that little amount. So I’m guessing it’s A LOT more than that  The guy confirmed that for me. He was great, really patient, had some humor, and helped guide us really well, but he also kept joking about how he doesn’t like pain, he doesn’t like exams, he doesn’t like being touched. So I’m guessing for him to be comfortable with six students doing a testicular/rectal exam it has to be a crap ton of money.

I got got an email last night to be a live model for an ultrasound. It’s $50 an hour to just lie down for six hours and have ultrasound students take pictures of my heart. I’m really sad I’m already  working 5/6 days because I would otherwise totally do it. I might still sign up for one day.

ETA: sorry, $125:hr, not $125 total
FI does these types of exams. He gets paid very well. The non invasive ones get paid very well too. It's good work especially as a student.

What's up for the day?  I am so sore today.  Yesterday's workouts kicked my butt!  My boss is sick so not much work. I'm washing sheets, cleaning bathrooms, and general cleaning.  It's waaaaaay past due.

    Max nugget from the am:

We came up on a stopped car at a round about. Max says from the backseat "you dummy a stop sign is an octagon. A triangle is a yield".

My 5 yo can figure this out, but the idiot in front of me couldn't.

LMAO, our two little ones can school all the drivers , my kid does the same thing.

I'd just be happy if Southern Ontario could decide on a season. Yesterday it was Spring, today, we're back to Winter and by Friday, we are looking at Spring again. Next week, we may get snow. There's flood watches in a whole bunch of areas where we have family so I've been texting people all morning.
We're having the exact same thing in Buffalo, and I'm over it. Pick a season! It was in the mid-60s (High teens for our Celsius friends, I think) yesterday and a low of high 20s tonight. I'm done. How far south are you?

Not much here; looking at houses to see this weekend, but a ton of work between now and then.

The pup smells a little less bad today, but his face is really what stinks. All of the internet says to use a hydrogen peroxide/baking soda mix, but I just can't put that on his face. I think we're going to try the tomato sauce/juice option and see if that helps.

I'm less than an hour from the border, Niagara side. To be fair, Buffalo and Syracuse get way worse weather than we do, I'm just tired of not knowing how to dress from day to day.
Yeah, we get the lake effect, but I live north of the city so it's not as bad. I actually grew up about 20 minutes from the Niagara Falls border, and my sister went to grad school in Canada so I've spent a fair amount of time on your side of things. Also, we could drink legally there at 19 and would walk across the bridges.
LOL, I remember going to Buffalo for a concert at 20 and being annoyed because I couldn't drink. Archaic drinking laws.
I live relatively close to Quebec {an hour bus ride to Hull} and they're drinking age is 18 ;)
We'd go to the SAQ Depot {booze warehouse} get some Smirnoff Black Ice, then go drink by a museum because people were working.
    {I only had classes until noon and my friend hadn't started class yet}
We used to Via into Montreal (when they had $20 ISIC tickets), and drink at 18. We'd roll off the train still drunk or really hung over two days later, our parents were so thrilled.
