I had a friend in HS who changed her name by the time she was 13. She hated her real name - Earleen. I am good with my name. Most people call me by nicknames which I like better. I have no clue what I would change it to if I had the option.

My grandfather gave me a very traditional Native American name at birth (Myrhjallah), and very few people could pronounce or spell it (including my step-dad), so when I was a teenager my Mom had it changed to something much more 'american". I hate my "new" name and if it wasn't so much of a hassle I would change it back.
