   I would start the new year with the new name, if you are changing it. My mom is a teacher and our last name can be hard to pronounce for kids, so most of her students just call her by her last initial, so she's known as Mrs. C.    I'd start the year off with the new name. Unless you can come up with a nice combo haha.    Thanks everyone! I was leaning towards starting off with my married name; however, wanted to see if there were any cons about starting off with my maiden name.

   I would probably do it and get it over with. That way you start out the year with your new name, and your work can get your stuff taken care of as well.

   Same here. If it was Christmas I'd say switch mid year, but for two weeks - keep it simple and just use one name for the whole year.
