   If you and your H divorced tomorrow, would you ask for alimony? Do all states still have this? It seems so outdated.

   If it happened tomorrow no. I could go back to work without missing much of a beat. 5 years from now would be a different story. Even a year from now would be tough and I think I'd need some support to get by until I could get a job.

   If Id' put my life on hold in any way for him? yes. But...I make more. I've done more. I helped w/ his business but I didn't put anythin on hold for it. I'm pretty sure he could apply from me better than vice versa.

   I've put my life on hold for H, but I still make more. I can't imagine too many divorce scenerios in which I would still want contact with him either.

   oh, I wouldn't get alimony to be dependent. I'd want alimony just to make him pay ( probably) so I could have awesome shoes and great vacations with sexy cabana boys at my beck and call.    I'd be lucky if he doesn't ask for alimony. I am the one who brings home the bacon, lately. He brings home the health insurance (and a nice slice of bacon, too, but you kwim).

   I would like to say, i'd just assume cut all ties. If i'm getting alimony, i'd be depending on him. Which I probably wouldn't want to do if I didn't like him. In reality, it would depend on what he did to make me want to divorce. And if we have/had children together. (I say if, because you know.) But that would be more…
