   i did NOT change my name on my passport, and i don't intend to until it expires. i just got it like 2 years ago, so it doesnt expire for a while, and i can't see spending the $100 or so to change it. it seems, though, that as long as you travel in your maiden name when you have to use your passport, you don't actually HAVE…

   Over a year later and I still haven't changed my name on my passport! Who has and hasn't gotten a new passport due to a name change? Does the process take a long time?

   I changed my name legally and changed my name on my passport. I sent in my new pictures, a copy of our marriage license and my old passport and it took a few weeks. No big deal!

   I haven't changed my name on the passport yet. It doesn't expire for another 8 years, and I didn't want to pay again for it, so I'm waiting for it to expire. I will be booking with things with my maiden name.

   Ditto Vikki! I'm not bothering to change it - too much of a hassle. I'm just going to keep my maiden name legally for a while.

   FWIW, if you do decide to change your name on your passport, you get a new expiration date expiring 10 years from the month you apply.
