   If you don't mind me asking, what dj company is this? My fiancé and I are going through the same thing, one dj quoted $5150, another $4000. We live in Brooklyn as well and can't seem to find the dj that won't break the bank.

   What are you getting quotes for - DJ + Emcee - any lights/favors, etc? Standard one-person DJ/Emcee w/formalities for New York, 5 hours is anywhere from $1,300 to $2,000. However, you can find some other companies that offer it for less (around the $1K area).

   Most quotes I got were from $1,350-1,650. I was able to negotiate a lower price with my DJ.

   I would say dont just go with whats cheaper, bc they screw up the music, it'll ruin your party! go with whos most reputable...whats a few hundred dollars amist the thousands that your spending on the entire wedding???? 3 things you cant go cheap with, food, pics, and music!
