@jenna8984 it took him about a month to realize it's off the air, so I said it was a revival tour. He told me for my birthday he's shipping me to Siberia.  I said nice try but my birthday is his brother's wedding hahaha

This morning I've been throwing my own pity party. Today is the big Fiesta parade and basically the whole city shuts down. I'm so annoyed that I have to be at work the whole day. I have a feeling it's going to be a long Friday. Ok, rant over.
Anyway, tonight is date night so I'm looking forward to that. H and I are going out to eat and going to see the new Huntsman movie. My SF box is also supposed to be delivered today!!! Tomorrow we are headed to Austin for a mini-getaway which I'm really looking forward to. Sunday we'll head home and do the usual Sunday things: grocery shopping, laundry, etc. I'm going to enjoy this weekend because H and I agreed that we need to start working out again and eating healthier. In fact, my dad offered us his elliptical (he's getting one of those new Bow-Flex contraptions) so that might be further motivation to have it in our house!
Praying this day goes by fast!!!

@swazzle - I'm sorry, I had no idea your dad was sick. Will definitely keep all of you in my prayers! I'm sure they will love getting a visit from you!
@southernpeach89 - Yikes, I'm assuming it was something you ate? Hopefully if it's a bug, it won't last long!
@PamBeesly524 - I have never used the words "regret" and "mac n cheese" in the same sentence.

@minskat30 - I'm sure that's frustrating to not be able to workout how you want, but it's good that you're listening to your body. I think up until now you've done pretty awesome!

Awww @cocobellaf that isn't true!  And in fairness I think I've known one (ONE) woman who I believed who said pregnancy was easy for her.  Of course, she did it at age like 20 so I think that makes a world of difference too.  Yesterday I was complaining to H about not being able to move quickly enough and being tired all the time (and swollen...my feet are like Flinstone feet right now) and he just reiterated what I'll reiterate with you...you are carrying another HUMAN and need to just cut yourself a break.  In the scheme of life, this is just a blip of time really.  Its like labor...it is going to be painful as hell more than likely but, frankly, it isn't going to last more than a few days.  You can do anything for a few more months...or break it down to days if that helps.  Hugs.

@minskat30 that's a good idea for Raj, hopefully he'll use it!  We bought one of those doggy step things for my mom's dogs because he's starting to get arthritis.  He refuses to use it and will just bark till someone helps him up.  Stubborn little dog.

@labro - Do they run small or large?  They only come in a 6, and I'm normally a 5.5 in Steve Madden and a 5 in Nine West.  If they run small, they might work for me.

@minskat30 - We have broken it down to days.  Approx. 85 if she goes all the way to her due date.  I'm counting down and starting a list of all the things I'm going to do once I physically have the strength.  Post-pregnancy bucket list!

@speakeasy14 - I freaking LOVE bingo so much. I went to a similar one that was a charity Bingo for breast cancer and they had Coach bags there. My grandmother won and you would have thought she hit the PowerBall LOL

@CocoBellaF - I had those in black in my cart yesterday! I ended up only buying the pair I posted because they were $20 and I had a $20 gift cert so they were free

@CocoBellaF I'm generally a solid 8.5 and I just checked my order history and they are an 8.5 too. it may run too large for you but they carry K&K in store so you could probably try them on and see for yourself! The back ankle strap is adjustable and it could work out just fine. I don't think they'd be large to the point of being floppy.

@minskat30 So true. Plus my doula friend keeps reminding me that it's more than just a baby. The placenta is an entire organ that's also heavy and growing, the uterus is an organ that has grown 100 times it's size, sometimes it's hard to remember that when you just think of a 2-3 lb munchkin in there.

@cocobellaf I was the MOH in a wedding last summer and the bride bought us all sandals like that to wear. I thought I'd toss them after the wedding because they just didn't look my style. But they ended up being so comfy that I wore them non-stop for months!

I'm jealous of everyone that can wear sandals at work! My workplace is business casual and sandals aren't forbidden, but they don't look right with my work clothes.

I've been MIA the past couple days, Wednesday was my final audit day so I was trying to get a lot packed into a half day so I could get back home before rush hour. Well, the manager kept talking to me (he was a really nice guy, we talked about home renovations and travel) so I didn't get to leave when I wanted to. Instead I went to Lowe's and ended up buying a bunch of river pebble/stone because it was marked down, a fence thing to hide my AC unit, and a couple of plants. Thursday I stayed home and ended up spending the afternoon doing yard work. Mowed grass (with an old fashioned push mower), weedwhacked my front hillsides since I can't get them with a mower without risking a fall, weedwacked the part of my yard that is super damp so I can't get my mower over it, planted an azalea, put up the fence thing around my AC unit, and dug a hole in the wet part of my yard to see what the soil situation is. Sure enough, it's clay. Explains why it won't freakin drain!! 

I want to put a paver patio in but I'm on a budget, and I really keep going back and forth from doing it myself (with help from BF for the heavy labor) or hiring someone to do it. The IDEA is simple, dig down, few inches of gravel, sand, pavers and make sure it's level) but I worry about messing it up. I mean, I imagine the worst that could happen is the drainage isn't really fixed and the more likely thing is that it's a bit uneven. Any thoughts, NEY?

Tonight I'm going to Seder at BF's parents house, it's just a few of us and will be my first one ever. There is another one tomorrow that is a bigger thing (more people) that I also plan to go to. The rest of my weekend will be laundry, going through clothes (hopefully) and putting some plants in the ground. I'm glad the weather is finally consistently warm!

@wink0erin I'm on team do it yourself, if you can.  We've done everything for the house on our own, and saved so much money. Maybe ask anyone you know who does landscaping for advice to keep it level and drainage issues.

@swazzle – I’m so sorry about your dad. I don’t remember if I’ve talked about it on here, but my dad had heart surgery a couple of years ago. It was a scary time, and he kept getting worse before the surgery, but now he is back to his old self and I’m so glad. I think it’s really nice that you’re surprise visiting them!

@LizzyTish88 – Awww, man! I want to have another dog stay with us! That sounds fun! I hope you enjoy the chaos!

@PamBeesly524 – I love your weekend plans! Do you have a knitting project you’re currently working on?

@wink0erin – That sounds EXACTLY like a project I have for my yard, except we need a replacement for some sod that died before it had a chance to root itself. I haven’t dealt with the drainage yet, but I know it’s going to be important. We’re going to try and lay the pavers ourselves.

Good morning everyone! I had such a nice run this morning, and the weather seemed lovely as I was leaving for work, so I left the dog outside. Now I feel bad, because it is a torrential downpour out there right now. The sky is completely black, and I feel like maybe the rapture is here. Or whatever the opposite of that is. The dark version.

My new dress was supposed to come last night, and it didn't, so that is totally lame. It had better be there tonight! Tomorrow, BF and I have tickets to go see Newsies, so I'm hoping I'll get to wear it! Although weather is supposed to be absolute shit for the next couple of days.

On Sunday I'm hoping to give meal planning and preparation a go for the first time. I'm thinking overnight steel cut oats and yogurt parfaits for breakfast, since I can make multiple days worth, and then varying salads with either quinoa or kale as the base for lunch. Dinner will hopefully be mostly slow cooker recipes and Blue Apron. I dunno, it's my first time. We'll see how it goes. I need to stop spending money going out to eat so often, though.

@AlPacina I'm excited to have two dogs in the house. I love having two, it's just unrealistic for us to get another one. I told BF last night that after today with my cousin and having two dogs in the house that my baby fever and puppy fever will be at an all time high and he goes "better get you some tylenol to bring that fever down!!!"

@AlPacina you got this! I don't meal plan, but I make sure to take something out to make for dinner at least three times a week (I can't cook for just two so there's always leftover nights).  Knowing I need to make something because it's thawed makes me less likely to go out.

What was your favorite bridal shower present, if you had one?

@alpacina - That is what I alternate for H's breakfasts for the weeks (I eat at work because my breakfast here is subsidized).  I do steel cut oats in the winter/colder weather with walnuts and golden raisins.  In the summer, I do granola (or rolled oats with some chopped nuts a little coconut flakes) and yogurt with some fresh fruit chopped up in the summer/warmer weather.  Easy and (other than the nuts) affordable...not to mention delicious.  I actually can't wait to be off this summer and have parfaits myself for breakfast.    

ETA - I didn't have a bridal shower but I did get a very nice gift from my best friend of a real quality robe around that time.

What was your favorite bridal shower present, if you had one?

An apron that my grandmother made for me. I don't wear it, but it has sentimental value. At the time of our wedding, she was 97 and couldn't make it. She passed away about a year later (last October).
I remember opening that gift at my bridal shower and everything just hit me at once. It was already so surreal to have everyone I love in the same room at once, that when I opened that gift I started bawling. It's probably one of my favorite wedding memories.

@AlPacina  I had a couple. One was a gift card for the spa, which I used after wedding to get a massage. Another was frames. I got a lot, which was great because I wanted to put up a bunch of photos. One was my fave saying "family" with a cute saying that I've obv forgotten now, but it was really nice. I liked everything, but those stood out the most because people wanted to do something personal and knew me/us/our place to get right colours

Super late today so just a quick update.
Ended up going to sushi last night for dinner because we're lazy.

Also had a brief convo about future and stuff. If all goes to plan on buying a house this year {offer in September, close by December}, I'm going to go to the doctor about switching my anxiety/depression meds. Our idea is to TTC by late next summer but I wanna give new meds some time to work and avoid issues.
I did some recent research since I've been on b.c for at least 10yrs, but since it's low-dose hormone, there shouldn't be any issues {no b.c related issues I mean}

Nervous and excited and trying not to over think it also.

@AlPacina - I'm sad for Marv but I giggled reading about the dark rapture you're experiencing. 

One of my favorite shower gifts wasn't from my registry. It was a basket of wine and each bottle had a different label on it: First Christmas, First House, First Anniversary, etc. I think there was even a First Fight (as a married couple, of course). It was SO cute. 

I also really love my stemless wine glasses, probably because I use them so frequently. 

I really like wine things, in case you weren't sure.

@MissKittyDanger - I've been on bc for over 10 years as well. Does that make a difference in TTC?
I did ask my doctor about timing after stopping bc, and she said that in the first month you are off bc you are much more likely to conceive twins!! Just FYI!
