Yeah, Dayton is between Columbus and Cincy. The realtor said the market is heating up because of some proposed businesses coming in  in a few years. Hope that pans out but I happen to know that is dependent on a DoD contract/grant. DS1 has been working on an educational grant tied to that project.

FWP - my health insurance dropped the gym coverage for retirees. I found out this morning as I scanned in at the Y. It would have been nice if they (the company from which H retired) had told me before it occurred. Now I have to figure out what I want to do - wait a year and rejoin when I'm on Medicare or pay the rather hefty monthly membership for 15 months.

We are going to Dayton again tomorrow. DS2 had 7 more houses he wants to look at. He lost the house earlier this week. Two others he was really interested in already have pending contracts. One is still accepting offers in case something happens to the first. The market is hot in his price range. Decent houses are only staying on the market a few days and there aren't many of them.  @short+sassy you might want to keep this in mind when you are planning your move. I told DS2 that he needs to see the houses as soon as he finds one that checks his boxes and not wait until the weekends.

H and I went to church and set up for Sunday communion because I won't be able to do it tomorrow. Sunday will be church and house stuff.

That is a crazy amount of snow for New Orleans. I'm glad you were able to stay safe and cozy at home! 

Whoa!  You've had more snow than I did in New England!  

Last week was AH-MAZING!!!  My week gave the green light to WFH the whole time!  I got to stay warm-ish in my house, watch the snow, and didn't have to go anywhere.  I wore flannel leggings with sherpa lined sweats over them, most of the week, lol.

Tuesday was hard snowing and overcast all day.  Wednesday and Thursday, we still had just as much snow on the ground but it was sunny!  Friday still had a good bit of snow on the ground but it was already melting.

New Orleans had 9.5" of snow!  This was the second highest snowfall ever recorded here.  The highest was 10" in 1895.

Here are two pics of poor Izzy trying to trudge through the snow on the heavy Tuesday.  She was NOT a fan!  She was only out for a few minutes and then my H scooped her up and brought her back inside.  She should be embarrassed, though.  Our neighbor was taking his chihuahua for a walk.  That dog was happily trotting down the street.  I can only guess it was light enough to walk on top of the snow instead of sinking in.






I took Izzy back out on Wednesday, but kept her on our porch so the snow wasn't as deep plus I had cleared some of it away.  It took a LOT of convincing to get her to walk out the door this time, lol.

Literally @charmedpam. I remember falling literally 10 feet out of a tree once as a kid (onto a bed of pine needles after a fresh rain, so like, softest landing possible) and I was totally fine with the exception of having the wind knocked out of me. Last Wednesday I crossed my legs too long at our biweekly work meeting and I couldn't walk the next two days because I hurt my knee. Getting older is bullshit. lol. I'm glad your cruise was fun but bummer about your cruise mate getting sea sick and about the pipe in the wall!

Weekend was okay. Grandpa was sent home from the hospital with a "i dunno, but labs look okay" non-dx. My Mom stayed over at my Grandparent's house for a few days. She made the comment that she thinks Grandpa is just dying and I don't think she's being dramatic or wrong for saying it. It's a sad reality. She was driving me absolutely bonkers because I kept asking her what time Dad's appointments were to help out at their house, she wouldn't answer, and then all of a sudden Saturday morning she lets me know the time an hour before the appointment time (I live an hour away). I had to woosah myself the whole drive over. It's not my fault or my emergency that I asked three days straight for times and it wasn't given to me. Of course we missed the appointment. I was going to be damned if I drove all the way out there and didn't get to at least go to eat somewhere decent, so we went to the local college town and had a nice lunch with minimal complaining. It really made his day too which made it hard to be too salty even though it was physically and emotionally draining for me. 

Sunday we had brunch for MIL's bday which was... a lot. FIL kept trying to ask my opinion about MIL and health and next steps and BIL A kept interjecting and talking over me (the mansplaining in a topic he knows nothing about was infuriating) so the conversation was not as productive as desired. I have super suspicious thoughts about it. Obviously MIL is declining mentally, and you'd have to be blind or just beyond self absorbed not to see it. When we got to brunch she left her purse in the bathroom. We found it, nothing was missing, she gave it to us in the booth to save space, but then every ten minutes she was looking for it and had forgotten where she had put it. I am really wondering if FIL was given a diagnosis of something bad because he's been hinting at "what happens to mom if I go first," and he wasn't even this freaked out after he had a stroke a few years ago. I think there's a really big family conversation to be had regarding care and wishes, but I do feel limited in what I can say because I'm not blood. I guess it means something that FIL asked me specifically three separate times (literally turned away from BIL at one point, looked at me and asked me by name specifically) so he definitely wants my opinion, but that doesn't change other sibling dynamics and man I just hate family politics BS. It doesn't help that with the exception of SIL A and H, every other sibling is just the absolute worst and so incredibly selfish. 

Anyways, otherwise SSDD.

I called out sick yesterday bc two of the kids were sick and stayed home from school, but we're all back today.  
My left knee has been acting up for a couple of weeks and I'm seeing an orthopedist tomorrow.  It responds well to rest which is good but not good considering I'm on my feet all day, at work and at home, so resting it isn't really a long-term solution. But, it'd been feeling okay yesterday into this morning.  And then when I was walking into my school building I felt a pop in my left calf. I'm trying to be positive and tell myself it's bc I've been walking with an abnormal gait lately.  It took me 20 minutes to get from the parking lot to the faculty room.  I'm sitting where and when I can.  But I'm so down over this whole left leg thing.  I really take it for granted that I'm usually so mobile.
