Save the Dates

When is everyone sending out save the dates? I'm not sure on the etiquette for the appropriate time frame. Wedding is November 2014, not a destination and we have only a few family members traveling from out of state. Thanks!

I've seen some sources say 8 weeks before the wedding, other sources say 3-6 months. Even though it's not a destination wedding with few out of state guests, you're running towards the holidays so you definitely want to give people plenty of time to make plans in case they had other events they are traveling to during that time of year. I'd say 4-6 months would give everyone plenty of time to figure out their plans so they can include your wedding on their calendars.

I sent mine 6 months out

We sent ours out at the 9 month mark because we had some international guests.

I'm skipping sending them out altogether.

Yeah, I'll be sending mine out about 8-9 months out (September 2014 wedding, will be sending out around Xmas/NewYear's) because we have a lot of OOT guests who will need to start booking rooms/flights/etc.

In general though I've heard 6 months is a good average.
