It's frickty fracking cold, but the sun is out.

I had a wrapping marathon last night and everything I've gotten in for Christmas so far is wrapped.  Except for DefConn's 'baccum, because we're probably going to put it under the tree unwrapped.  :)

I'm getting more stuff all week that I ordered last week.  I love getting packages...Even though they're not for me, it's still fun to have the UPS truck pull up in front of the house and bring stuff.  I'm like a 6 year old that way.  ;)  Also, I did qualify for the Smashbox 500 point bonus from Sephora with my orders...SO I'm excited to get that and play with it.  ;)

We got MIL and FIL's gift last night. We are sponsoring a family with my family through United Christmas Service and we bought them a microwave last night as well.

I love the Christmas season.  :D

Re: Good morning

  • It snowed a whole inch here last night, so people are of course losing their goddamn shit about it and driving like idiots. As I mentioned on the Facebooks, we need a special lane for those of us who know what the hell we're doing and then everyone else can just idiot it up however they want. I should never be going 10 on streets that are just wet and slushy when the speed limit is 40. Throw that bitch in second and drive.

  • Ice Capades. That's all I have to say about that.

Hello! I'm back at work. Two snow days!!!!!

I had major cabin fever, though.

  • Everyone thinks they know what they're doing in the snow.  That's an illusion.

We have another 4" on the damn ground and the plows didn't keep up with it, so even the "A" routes were horrid.  At least it's sunny today so some of it might finally melt off enough to not just freeze tonight.

If DH doesn't clean out the garage this summer, I'm going to and he is NOT going to like how I do it.  "Cleaning" in this case will equal "trash".  We don't need 4 bikes for 2 people...really 3 for 1 person.

  • Man, it's blustery as hell here, and it's annoying because the windows up here are not really what I'd say "AIRTIGHT" so I'm sitting rubbing my hands like a scheming weirdo.

THAT was a long sentence to say, "i'm cold"

I am all for the "idiot it up" lane.  Usually that's the right lane...you know...for the sloooooo drivers.

  • In world news, apparently Pussy Riot is being released, so that's pretty cool.

  • It snowed here just a little last night too, and I had to take my mom to the airport in Nashville.  We did good until the last 4-5 miles and then crazy.  We threw her out the door to the terminal and she ran and text that she barely made it in time. Now she has to worry about getting stuck again in Chicago like she did last Thurs. coming here.  People in TN FREAK if there is even a flake of snow, its funny to watch, but I hate having to share the road with them.

I know, right? 65N was apparently the thunderdome this morning per my husband. Fortunately, I have to be to work at 6:30, so I got to leave from the East side early. I still had all kinds of idiots who were creeping along though :|.

  • I drove around yesterday and needed a baby-wipe to get kid-crud off of my kid's face to discover that they can and do freeze solid, alcohol in them be damned.
  • I live about an hour south of Nashville and didn't even TRY to take any interstates.  I am from MI and when we have snow here in TN I can't believe how people here panic!
  • I am grumpy. Came into work for a required training session I signed up for weeks ago. The person running it isn't here. Great.

We were supposed to get snow in our mountains from this storm marching across for you all now, our mountains barely got a dusting. We tried to get to some yesterday for the baby to check out and it was a no go. The locals in Julian said what they got wasn't sticking despite all the weather reports saying they'd have a few inches at least. So we wine tasted and had lunch instead of playing in the snow.
  • Took me an hour to go 6 miles this morning.  I almost hit a Mustang along the way.

My shopping was done.  Bastards at Kohls have had my order "in fulfillment" since 12/2.  A shirt for Max is now out of stock so I need to find something else.

@6fsn.  You know, Max won't know that you didn't get him a shirt.  And the kids won't keep track of how many gifts the others got.  You really need to be easier on yourself and chill.
  • I agree with @aunflo.  However, if you were trying to make an outfit with the shirt and something else, I totally get that too.

FTR- The driving was for Costco and preschool.

I really don't count the number or price of gifts.  My mother does that.  Their stockings are huge so we usually shove some sort of socks/underwear/shirt in the toe so the candy doesn't get stuck down there.
