@pumpkinsandturkeys I'll have to look into that. Cause we all know that strapless bras don't hold in place once you're a certain size. Maybe I'll get the kind that has clear straps?? My dress has pseudo sleeves, they are wide organza straps with beading detail on them, so I could probably get away with clear straps...ugh I don't know and I have to decide very soon because I have my first fitting on Feb 4th and I need to have all my undergarments with me!
I wore it all day today, sans straps, and it stayed in place! I didn't have to hike it up once, and I actually forgot that I was wearing a strapless. Also, my girls stayed in pretty much the same place within the cups throughout the day (all pushed up and front and center haha), so yay!
I'm still going to explore the cups option, but I've heard of seamstresses also taking a bra you like and sewing that into the dress. If they can do that, I might buy another of these for that.
@pumpkinsandturkeys omg that is a super cute bra!!! And that is awesome to know it doesn't slip and such. I didn't think strapless bras like that existed! lol Plus the bra is on sale!!!!
@Kristen625 I love it!!! At that price, you should def get one. Also, I love that it has 3 hooks in the back instead of 2 (a must for us!), wider elastic at the bottom of the band, and a little silicone line at the top of the band. Stays right where it should!
Okay I feel like I'm making progress this week! I talked to my mom on the phone last night and we worked a few more things our logistically.
@pumpkinsandturkeys I did order that bra yesterday, so it will be here in time for my fitting in Feb. I can't wait to try it out, and thank you for the suggestion!!
Things that have gotten done: 1.) We are officially registered at two places, Target and Macys (although I'm still tweeking the target registry online) 2.) We have a photographer (almost. We just have to meet to sign the contract) 3.) We have all addresses ready for our invites 4.) We decided on my older brother as our officiant, and he is super stoked 5.) My MOH will be shopping for a new dress on Tues 6.) We both have our wedding bands 7.) We have decided on a first dance song (Come what may, the Moulin Rouge version) 8.) Bach "party" has been set, me and my MOH will go see a baseball game at Wrigley Field 9.) My mom has decided that my bridal shower will be two days before the wedding, cause that is when everyone will be in town (I think its a little nuts and I told her I didn't have to have one, but she was insistent)
I think that is it for now. My mom will be here in March so she will help out with decorating the centerpieces. So that will be fun and easy to do. The rehearsal dinner is set for Saturday (we are getting married on Sunday) at the FIL's place. Wow things are coming together!!!
We got a lot of wedding stuff done this weekend and it makes me happy & a little less stressed lol! Yesterday we met with our florist to see the mockups of our centerpieces - they are perfect and look so good and makes me so much more excited to see how everything will come together the day of our wedding! Today a few of my bridesmaids came over and helped me stuff, seal & stamp our invitations. We also put glue dots on all of the favors and out them together so that's done and we got all the tags tied on the bubbles. Whew.
This Wednesday night we have a meeting with a limo company to see their cars and talk prices/packages/options. We still need to figure out a get-ready location for the day of (FI & I are leaning towards a hotel but my parents really want me to get ready at home which I'm very much against for logistical reasons, aesthetic reasons [I'm sorry but I don't want their wallpaper, couches, TV & such as the backdrop for my wedding photos.] and also to try and avoid getting dog hair all over everyone [their dog sheds like CRAZY!]). And I need to book our wedding night hotel room.

We got a tonne done today! I'm proud of us (and all of you guys, too!)
We finalized our menu today -- hors d'oeuvres, appetizer, entrees, dessert... The whole shebang!
We submitted the first revision to our invitation proof.
We chose a Bible passage for our pastor to offer a reflection on during our ceremony, and decided that we're going to do an actual handfasting ritual and not just read the handfasting reading our pastor had suggested.
@pumpkinsandturkeys curious which vendor you used for table numbers? I've been looking at tons of them and I can't decide. If you've had a great experience, I'd totally take the recommendation.
The table numbers were $5 apiece and she was really good about taking our requests for wood that's more grey than honey, and she can customize the colour and font, too. We also had her make two signs for us ('bar' and 'desserts'), and those we're only $10 apiece! We're still waiting for them to be finished, but the experience has been great so far.
I am so excited about getting things done! Finally ordered bridesmaid dresses - had to rush them but I'm just happy to be done with that! Met with our officiant and figured out ceremony details. Picked out my wedding jewelry. Finally decided against a veil - planning to do just a comb with some embellishments. Got my wedding shoes - they're a tad tight so ordered a new size. Should get the new ones today! FI and I went through the wedding room at our church (full of donated items) and inventoried everything we're going to use (this is saving us a ton on our decor for the reception). Got the box for my guestbook/addresses. Mailing check today to florist to lock that down. Lining up some meetings with caterers this week so hopefully I'll have that taken care of soon! LOVE checking things off my list
I moved last month and am now almost 6 hours from where we are having the wedding. I'm going home just for the weekend. On Saturday I have a meeting with the caterer to finalize the menu, the seamstress to alter my dress and make me a veil, the florist to hash out details, and finally a make up trial! Holy wedding overload...I'm going to be exhausted after this weekend!!

lindseyanne1 the makeup trial has been one of my favorite parts of the planning process. I loved sitting there and just letting my makeup artist do whatever she wanted and it turned out so pretty. Have fun with that!
We got digital proofs of our invitations back and I approved them. They should be here next week. I also purchased a new bra to wear under my dress and listed the old one for sale on Tradesy. Our cake baker has received our deposit and contract. And I have made plans to drive 5 HOURS away to meet with a friend of my sister's about doing my hair for the wedding. Not really excited about the drive, but super excited for her to play with my hair
