So I need to get a fab gift for the owner of the shop I got my guest from. She was a loyal customer of a Starbucks I worked at years ago. Long story short she had been feeding a stray kitty outside the back of her shop and I adopted him from her and she over the top generously gifted me my Justin Alexander gown. Not only that but she took care of all the alterations and even the veil I ordered. All of that was within my original dress budget so I reallocated that budget and bought my bridesmaids their dresses and I couple other things, but I really want to get her a thoughtful gift because, really, I got a gorgeous gown AND a new kitty that I love so she has been beyond generous.
Generally I am not a fan of donations in lieu of gifts, but in this case I have been considering it. At our local Humane Society you can purchase benches, plaques and bricks that line the walkway to their front door. I was considering getting one of those donation type items along with with a $100 Starbucks gift card and a nice box of chocolates or something.
Should I consider something different? I'm torn because I feel like a donation isn't really a gift for her, but I also feel like she's the type of person who would genuinely appreciate it. Also, I don't know a whole lot about her other than her love for animals and Starbucks.
