Any other "old" brides?

Ok, so I know I'm not "old", but a many of the girls here seem to be 22-24!

I'm 29 (turning 30 next week!) and getting married later this year.

Anyone else?

Re: Any other "old" brides?

  • While I'm a young one, there are several around here that are in their 30s and 40s.
  • I'm 33 (will be 34 on my wedding day). You are not old and neither am I!
  • hahahahaha, is 30 old now?! I am 30, turning 31 in March and getting married in July.

  • I was 32 when I married in 2012. Though, I was 24 when I married the first time.

  • Yeah you are not old.  In fact, I am your age.  But I did get married about a month before my 27th birthday.

What is interesting about this is that when I was planning my first wedding and posting on here (2002-2004), I was flamed quite a bit for being a "baby bride"!!! Now, there are a lot of "baby brides" on here and noone seems to make a fuss over it.

I just got married last month and I am 34!
  • NEY, but I'm 26, FWIW.
  • I'm engaged and will be two months away from 28 when I get married and FI will be 28 as well. You're definitely not old!

I was called a baby bride back in 2004 too! and I was 24.
  • **waving hand**
"Old" (as evidenced by my white hair and 'mature' nature. ha!) bride here.

    I'm 36...though I feel a good, solid 32 ;)

  • Lol. I know I'm not really old (although I have more greys every day!).

But it's nice to know that my peers are out there!
  • I'm engaged at 28, will be 29 when I get married later this year!

It's funny because FI is 29 1/2 right now so he always says in conversation that he's 30...last night I said "my 24 year old friend thinks I'm an old hag because I'm 28 and don't have any kids" and he literally said "oh wow, you are only 28, I always just consider us both 30 because we're close enough" I'm like hey speak for yourself buddy I'm not admitting to be 30 until I'm 30!!

Lol @jenna8984 ! I faltered when making this topic because since my birthday is so close I wasn't sure if I should say "I'm 29" or "I'm 30", so I decided on 29 with the disclaimer. :)
  • I'm neither a baby nor old, in that middle ground.  I'm 26 and will be 27 when we get married.  Fi will turn 30 exactly 2 weeks before our wedding and he keeps thinking that makes him old. *facepalm*

  • My FI will be turning 41 the day before our wedding. And trust me, he's not old.
  • I'm turning 30 in April and our wedding is October. I suppose I should be sure to register for Depends and one of those shower chairs. :P

You can't tell me that I'm the ONLY person who's wanted to sit down and take a rest in the shower? Normally I just plot down on the floor. But having a chair would be great.
  • I was 35 (still am) when I married a few months ago.

I felt ancient when I was in DB dress shopping and all other brides looked 10 years younger.

It also made me feel old when my mom confessed a few years back the money my parents had set aside for my wedding (because they are traditional and roll that way even though I was not close to engaged and would never expect them to pay for anything) was spent on a minivan!  She bascially figured they would probably never be spending it on a wedding!

30 is old?  Now I feel ancient.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

LOL! Wouldn't it? Or a hammock? A friend sent me the linke to a wine glass holder for the shower. I'm tempted :)

  • I'm 32 and will be 33 when I get married. FI is turning 35 tomorrow! It is the first marriage for both of us.
  • I am 34 and will be 36 by the time we get married in 2015!
  • I will be 34 when we get married.

    Anniversary

  • I was 29 when we got married (and I still am 29). Any my husband was 47!

We have two seats that are built into our stand alone shower and it's amazing. I never thought I'd want to sit down in the shower until I moved in with FI and discovered this phenomenon.
  • I'm pretty hip and young. I'm 28.
  • OP you are not old. I'm 26 and will be 27 in about three weeks.
  • At 33, I'm definitely not old yet! I still get mistaken for 16 all the time. ;)
