Our ceremony is at 4, cocktail hour at 6, reception at 7.  There is approx 30 minute drive from church to reception venue, so shoudl i just put reception immedate to follow?  Or do I put the time?

How long is your ceremony?  Your cocktail hour should start 30 minutes after your ceremony ends.  No gap, please.

With that in mind, the reception card should state "Reception immediately following the ceremony"

All of this. It sounds like you will have an hour or an hour and a half long gap. Either move your ceremony back or your reception forward.

thanks, im working on timing, but with drive from Church to venue, it will be arranged to not have any break.  Guest's are able to go straight to the venue and start partying...so reception immediate to follow is all that is needed?  I don't need to give specific time's for anything (well, besides the church, obviously)
  • So your ceremony is going to be an hour and a half? Thats really long.

Yes, all you need to say is " Reception immediately to follow."

  • @katwag - times are not set in stone, just trying to confirm what is more appropriate, "reception to follow" or a specific time.
