What have you already booked/Decided on?

Hi ladies! I'm new to the whole community thing but reading what everyone has done is making me feel so far behind! We've been engaged since the end of March and I haven't gotten much done. I've given out 2 of 6 bridal party members their little gift boxes, picked colors, started collecting vases and wine bottles (for centerpieces), and toured one venue. lost ten pounds, and picked a 6 week span of possible dates to settle on! The official date will be set once we find and book a venue to avoid any heartbreak over a booked venue

Good thinking! You're doing better then me on losing the 10 pounds! I have the hardest time shedding weight ugh

I do too but I've been very careful when it comes to the food I eat and alcohol consumption. I have a serious addiction to drinking cokes. I used to drink up to 7 or more cans a day and I've cut down to one a day. I've noticed that's helped me shed quite a few pounds very quickly!

Booked: Reception venue, church/officiant, and I bought my dress last month

I plan on waiting to book the photographer, DJ, florist, etc sometime between August-November. We have a few people that we already asked to be in our wedding, but I want to wait to ask the others.

If anyone bought their dress already, are you nervous that when it comes in it won't be what you expected? I bought mine, and its going to take 10 months for it to be made. I put half down, and then paid the balance this month so it was ordered when I paid the remaining balance. I'm terrified I will try it on and think "What was I thinking?!"

Wedding date is 10/25/15 We are still touring venues, got 2 more left to see then we will be making the deposit at the one we choose by the end of June (and hopefully that date is still going to be open haha)

sobocinn that's one of the nightmares I had this week! I bought a dress and it didn't come in until right before the wedding and I HATED it. It wasn't anything I expected and it was bright blue. I'm sure it'll arrive and be perfect.

maichkaa I'm right there with you. We're still touring venues. Everything just seems to be a lot more expensive than we were hoping! Lot's of hidden fees I'm learning.

Yes!! So many fees we did not know about! I knew it was hard to plan a wedding and choosing a venue but I was not expecting it to be THIS hard.

You are all making me look like a dead beat bride! We have started a guest list and arranged to look at at a few venues...our wedding is 10/3/15...I know I should try to do as much as possible, considering i'm taking a job in another state at the beginning of September and will only be back occasionally....life gets busy.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I am on medical weight loss management (have a lot to lose, and have lost 47 lbs to date since last October...hoping in another year I can drop another 50 lbs...so we will see). Low carb is my lifestyle but I tend to cheat on the weekends. Ugh. When I do, man do I feel it.

We are in the process of booking our venue. After that, we will be booking a hotel and then our flights, then the rest will fall into place. I'm more concerned about the venue and hotel at this point...

Booked: Church (reserved, not paid), reception venue, DJ, photographer & photo booth, hair stylists

Bought: flowers, beaded stems for centerpieces, altar decorations, DRESS!!

We likely know which caterer we're going through, same for the cake. There's only one beverage caterer available at our venue so we know that too....Am I missing any major vendors?

I'm kind of stressing about being able to pay for everything...anyone else?!

A little bit. Ironically I am not stressing out big time yet, but as plans start falling into place and more things are purchased, I am sure I will be. My dress is the biggest one I am stressing out over right now.

@jcray1978‌ I'm stressing over wedding dresses too. I'm going in October and I'm already having anxiety about it. I'm also stressing about paying for things too.

So far, we've booked our venue (it's for both the ceremony and reception), photographer, caterer, week-of coordinator, and officiant. We've also gotten our marriage license (they don't expire in the state of SC), and our STDs are ready to go out. I have my dress, too, and my fiance and his groomsmen have their suites. Once I get my bridesmaid dresses and sign a DJ or band, it'll just be down to the details/decor...yahoo!

Pretty nailed down on colors and the overall look, and have already chosen and asked everyone in our bridal party.  We know who our bar service provider will be, but haven't booked yet.  Still working out ideas for the decor.  Up next will be choosing a caterer, but we're giving ourselves a few months to do that!

I have to say I'm kind of loving being able to take our time to do everything!

Update!  The months between February and July were pretty slow for us wedding-wise, but we've gotten a ton more done this summer!  Now we've got:

Well I am way behind! We havent officially booked the church yet. We picked out our dj, our colors, and I have my half of the bridal party. I am slacking pretty hardcore right now.

Hi ladies

I managed to get a ton done while taking PTO last weekend (yay for 4 day weekends!). I have officially booked my wedding planner, officiant (my dad), and photographer. We are still negotiating the venue/catering contract, but have a hold on October 3, 2015.

I bought these super cute wine bottle labels on Etsy for my bridal party that say "Will you be my bitch bridesmaid?" I love them! I know all except one are definitely going to say yes.
I'm still deciding on colors because I originally wanted a summer wedding, but summer in Texas is a nightmare.

I've lost 10 lbs in the past month so I'm holding off on dress shopping until November. Paleo does wonders, let me tell you. I had to get my ring resized from a 7 down to a 5.5 and now it's still a little big.

Update: Found my florist, just need to put a deposit down and we are done w all big things. FFIL is marrying us.  Now just need my dress, BM dresses, GM attire and put our centerpieces together

our date is 10/23/15 we booked our venue/reception, created a guest list, asked bridal party, got an officiant. 

The venue takes care of catering, bar tending, and rentals- I just have to choose what I want now.

Hi! I'm brand new to the group but figured this was a good place to start!

We have a hold on the venue on 10/10/15 which is for the ceremony and reception (just getting money to put down), picked colors, picked flowers and kinda booked the florist (friend of the family), asked a little more than half the bridal party (some are out of state and want to ask them in person), booked the bands (which it wasn't hard since it's three different bands of all friends), and started collecting jars for centerpieces.

I've been engaged since last October so have had a good chunk of time to book vendors. We have a venue, date- 10/31/15, photographer and videographer, DJ, photobooth, and I just got my dress last week.

Next step will be thinking about my save-the-dates and bridesmaid dresses. Thinking of neutral colors (champagne, ivory, blush).

We have decided on/booked our venue for the wedding and reception - a mutual friend of ours has generously offered to host our wedding and reception in his backyard so that has been "booked" since shortly after FI and I got engaged in July.

We'll start looking at photographers and caterers around the end of the month - we're still finalizing our guest list - and I have someone in mind for DJing but we haven't gotten that locked in yet. Dress shopping for both myself and my bridal party will happen around the end of the year or the beginning of next year (I'm hoping that bridal shops in my area may have some nice sales after the holidays). So far I've been able to plan things at a nice, leisurely pace and I hope to continue like this. Our wedding date is 10/10/2015.

We are just finally looking at our five wedding venues in the next three weeks. Perhaps we are behind the 8ball? But we are getting married on a Sunday, and saving thousands, so our date has been available at every location yet. Plus.... the one that is the front runner - will not book more than 12 months to the day in advance, so we are going there for cocktail hour tuesday night and then making a decision.. Tonight we are viewing a local gallery... but it is #5 on my top 5 just because I don't really like the tall ceilings and the lighting. Next. Will be picking a caterer which won't be an issue if we pick our #1 pick next week - because you use their in house catering.
