Mom buys all of Pacsun's "pornographic" tshirts in protest

So this mom was in Utah was shopping at a mall with her son and saw t shirts in Pacsun's window that featured women in bikinis. She found it so offensive that she bought all the shirts so that they couldn't hang them in the window and so no one else can buy them. She plans to return them later. Worst. Protest. Ever. Here is a link to the article. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/oddnews/in-protest-of-pacsun’s-‘pornographic’-t-shirts--a-mom-buys-all-of-them-204809232.html?vp=1

  • Wow. I really hope her 19 year old son protests her insanity and swipes a few shirts from her and wears them.

  • This poor woman.  I'd like to see her last five minutes in New York.

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • Yes, that will show that clothing company that orders based on sales that sex and loose morals will not stand here in Murica!

Here's a good lesson. Avert your eyes.

  • I hate to think what she'd do if her local mall had a Victoria's Secret...

  • She did the exact opposite was what she wanted to do. Lol. I looked the shirts up and they are a little trashy but honestly they aren't that bad. @LizM61409 she actually mentions Victoria's Secret. She said something about how their window displays are different because they are selling lingerie and not "inappropriate" shirts.
  • Oh man. This reminds me of that madmen episode where that Jansen company wanted a conservative ad for "two piece bathing suits not bikinis." Yea, worst protest ever...

I lcan see where she finds a difference. However if she is going to protest against the display itself, then VS is worse. As far as what they sell, you're not going to show off the lingerie but you will the shirt. But as far as a display goes, lingerie displays are at least as bad.

I looked at it too. I'm a little more picky then most on modesty but those weren't bad. I might not allow my son wearing them but seeing them in a display. Is no problem,
  • What an idiot. Maybe I wouldn't want my 12 year old wearing one but her son is 19!

  • We shop at a mall where my grown son might see a t-shirt with a semi-clothed girl on it. EEKS!

    First world problem.

  • Warning. This is going to be extremley immature.
Did anyone else notice her last name and find it a little funny, given the situation? Hehe

    I snorted.

I went back and read the article again after this post, and I hate to admit it was only after the second time her name was mentioned that I snorted.

    Took me a minute, lol.

  • There was once a campaign up by Lakepoint to take down a lazer hair removal billboard because it showed a woman's legs. That's it just a pair of legs. Barely above the knee.
  • Imagine if all these people could take their outrage and motivation, and put it towards something actually useful.  For instance instead of getting pissed about seeing a bikini or legs on a shirt or billboard, these people could get pissed about sex trafficking or child abuse and put all of their busybody can-do attitude towards actually helping people and volunteering for worthwhile charities.

Whenever I read stories like this I can't help but think how awesome that would be, and how stupid it is that these people would rather just be mad about breasts than anything worthwhile, and will spend so much of their lives pissed about something so petty, when there are bigger issues going on in this world.
