This one is one of my favorites on you as well along with the one your Dad really likes.  On this one the ruching is very flattering to your figure and makes you look thinner and the dropped waist is hitting you in just the right spot that makes your torso look long without hitting you at the wrong place on your stomach.  The fullness of the skirt balances out everything else and unless you have to hem 12 inches of the ruffles off it doesn't make you look short (which dropped waists can do if you aren't careful).

This one and #3 were my favorites.

I actually had a really positive experience at David's Bridal last night with my mom. I didn't buy anything, but I tried on about 8 more dresses. I'll get the pictures together and post them soonish.

My mom thinks I'm a closet ballgown lover and I did try one on.

I have to decide if it's worth it to take a chance on getting one of the used Eve of Milady 4284 gowns that are for sale without having tried the dress to see if I even like it. I love it in photos, but that's another thing entirely.

I'm feeling slightly less overwhelmed today. I haven't cried in about 18 hours, so it's progress.

I agree with Viczaesar...number 3 and the one that a lot of others like that is posted above, the one your dad and RedJack like.  You look gorgeous and they are both really flattering and unique dresses!

If you are looking at other designers, I am a curvy girl and the Essense of Australia gowns I tried on were very flattering (I ended up with one, in fact) and they have beautiful lace designs that might be up your alley!

I actually went through every single Maggie Sottero dress with FI to get his opinions and he told me what shapes he likes, and we found one that he thought was the most absolutely beautiful dress ever. It had lace all over with a brooch at the empire waist and tulle running under the bust to the sides. I went to try this dress on finally - and hated the heaviness of it and the lace trim on the bottom. I was tormented because it is what FI thought was beautiful. After trying on many different Maggie dresses, my sister actually went searching through a different designer rack where she found a beautiful lace with a similar brooch at the empire waist. I stepped into the dress and cried as I pulled the top of the dress up. I loved it and I knew it matched what FI loved and thought was beautiful. I had that "moment" and branched around in it probably for the next 40 minutes not wanting to take it off, but I owe knowing it was the perfect dress to FIs opinions. And thank goodness my sister knew how to blend us together by finding that dress! (it's an Essence of Australia btw)

I love you in the mermaid shape dresses but also the lace a line gowns - they're just so classic. Maybe your FI will gravitate towards loving a certain detail about the dress, and once that combines with what you love, you'll have found your dress!

I love the dress posted above by others with the fitted bodice and ruffle multilayer skirt - the corset back is gorgeous and I love how the fabric comes off the back of the dress! - and also the Robert Bullock Angelina dress - such a beautiful look on you!
