Thank you for posting this! I'm in a "I want to change my hair stage"

    1. I have pin straight dark brown hair...nothing at all special. I actually just chopped off about 5 inches of it this past weekend so now it's short : )

    2. I use either Garnier or Tre Semme (I can't spell) : (

    3. Sometimes I'll put oil or some sort of moisturizer to help keep my hair nice and soft and from getting dry during this dry winter.

    1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc) It's highlighted currently. I have an average amount of hair with very fine texture.
    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?  Dumb Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner by Bed Head.
    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have? I have an Aveda product that's supposed to help keep hair smooth in high-humidity. Can't remember the name but it comes in a mint-green bottle and it works well for the most part. I don't use it daily, just on days when I want my hair to not be a dull crazy mess from high heat and humidity. I also use some sort of volumizing product from Bed Head that comes in a round purple bottle. Also can't remember the name but it does seem to help with giving my hair more body, especially at the roots, and is very lightweight. Both products are effective and don't make my hair look oily (which is pretty easy to do) att the end of the day.

  • 1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc) I have very short, thick, very frizzy (think guard hair on an animal) hair. And I have a lot of it.
    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use? I use Matrix Total Results Sleek shampoo and conditioner.
    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have? Nope. With my hair as short as it is there isn't much point in adding more stuff to it.

    1) I have weird hair. It's mostly straight, but very frizzy/textured, and it dries frizzy and wavy if I don't blow-dry it. I used to color it and might resume soon. My hair is a very mousy brown with blond highlights, but I prefer having it be a redder, darker brown.

    2) I use Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner, and 1-2 times a week, I add a dollop of Neutrogena T/gel extra strength shampoo (thanks to a recommendation from the NEY ladies!) because my dandruff is really that bad. If I've used a lot of product during the week, or I'm having a bad day, I'll use Brocato Peppermint Scrub shampoo to deep clean my hair and cheer me up. I use Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner, and I leave it in for a few minutes.

    3) The only product I use is Tuscan Oil curl oil, which is no longer available. I put a little in my hair and then either let it air-dry or I blow dry it. It basically kills the frizz, so if I air-dry, I have wavy hair, and if I blow-dry, I have straight hair.

  • 1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc)

Haha. I'd call it a hot mess. I have extremely fine, thin, brown hair. It doesn't get much longer than about at my clavicles. I'm trying to hold out for spring, but I do want to cut it soon into a nice short bob (maybe chin length), and I would love to get some highlights or dye it - I think a dirty blonde would look really good.

    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?

Usually just whatever's on sale. I really like anything by Garnier, though. For a while I used the Honey I Do or whatever it was, and I loved that.

    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have?

Nope. On occasion I use a little hair oil (also Garnier), but I can't say that it's made a noticeable difference in much of anything.
  • 1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc)
I have very thick, long dyed, fried, and blow dried hair. It's wavy and frizzy if I do nothing to it.
    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
I've been using the Dove shampoo and conditioner for a while, but I've noticed I'm getting a bit of dandruff which I've never had. I think I want a change.
    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have?
I LOVE my Garnier Blow Dry Perfector (CLICKY) and the Flat Iron Protector (CLICKY). When I go curly, I love Dove Whipped Cream Mousse (CLICKY), but their packaging sucks. I swear I feel like I lose half the bottle of mousse because it stops coming out. But man oh man, I LOVE my curls with this!

I have very, very thick hair that is super frizzy and a pain in the ass, oh and it's color-treated.

    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
Right now I'm using Tresemme color protection shampoo and conditioner. It works pretty well. But when I'm out I'm going to ask my stylist for something that does better moisturizing my hair and protecting the color.

    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have?
For my frizziness I use John Frieda frizz-ease products and they are amazing! I love it! They have a bunch, I usually buy what is on sale, but it all works perfectly to get rid of all the frizz.

  • @Ollie08- Aw, thank you! I just needed something different..I was about to go crazy lol.

@southernpeach89 I know I say it ALL the time but I am totally jealous of your hair! The color is so pretty and you have the perfect thickness and texture. I am jealous!!!

  • 1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc) I have thin, fine hair, with a bit of a wave to it if I don't do anything. It's color treated (dark brown right now, from it's natural platinum blonde).
    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?  Right now I'm using Kenra Volumizing Shampoo and Color Care Conditioner. I have found SUCH a difference in using professional-grade shampoo & conditioner. My hair used to be super dry and frizzy, but I switched to professional shampoo & conditioner & it totally changed everything.
    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have? I use Moroccan Oil mousse every day for volume. If I'm curling it, I'll use a sea salt spray (I have a few different brands). If I'm straightening, I use Garnier Fructis heat protectant spray.

    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use? I used TIGI Bedhead Dumb Blonde shampoo and conditioner

    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have? In the winter Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I use  Garnier Fructis heat protectant spray (thanks @brisox81 for the rec!) and then the Garnier Moroccan Oil for the ends. My hair looks FABULOUS today!
In the summer I use Garnier anti-humidity smoothing milk and let my hair air dry. Also in the summer I use a clarifying shampoo once a week since I'm in chlorinated water. When I curl my hair I use Big, Sexy Hair mousse, sea salt spray and Big, Sexy Hair hairspray. I rarely curl my hair anymore though.

Crazy thick, color treated, a little bit frizzy. It actually used to be much worse before I stopped washing my hair every day - that has made a huge difference in the texture.

    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
    Aveda Damage Remedy

    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have?
I use moroccan oil before I blow dry, Bumble & Bumble Does It All spray before I flat iron, and a shot of Kenra volume 25 hair spray for holding my bangs out of my face. For the days I don't wash it I use Batiste dry shampoo.

  • My hair is super straight and color-treated although I think it's mostly faded and really close to my natural color now. I have A LOT of hair and it's very oily. I just bought Aussie shampoo and conditioner yesterday. I haven't tried it yet. I was using Tresemme but I really didn't like it. I use Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly spray when I curl it. I used to use Sexy Hair Beach Spray which came in a Glambag over the summer and I loved that but I ran out.

  • My hair is super duper straight, but I also have tons of it (which leads to a bit of volume if I actually wear it down.)  However, I have a bit of psoriasis, so I use Head and Shoulders regularly (about 3-4 times a week, I tend to wash my hair every other day).  The only other product I use is a prescription for flare ups of the psoriasis.

I'm boring with my hair :)  BUT ironically, it will do ANYTHING I ask of it, so that makes it great when I am doing something fancy with it - like ya know, getting married :)
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • 1. What type of hair do you have? (i.e. color treated, frizzy, curly, straight, hot mess, etc) my hair is thin color treated and a bit frizzy
    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use? I use Treseme for color treated hair and Garnier fall fight conditioner
    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have? post shower I used a leave in conditioner for frizzy hair

  • 1. I have very think hair, but a shit ton of it (about nipple - for lack of better description - length now); natural color was a drab dishwater blonde (again, for lack of better description)/ light brownish, however, I'm nearly all gray at the ripe ol' age of 36 so it's regularly color treated. I never wanted to be a blonde, but due to the ever persistent roots & tight pocket book, it's made sense fiscally to shift to a lighter color.

    2. I love the Kerastase Nutritive, Bain Satin line, but it's expensive so I don't splurge on it often. I just bought the L'Oreal EverCreme Intense Nourishing Shampoo and like it so far.

    3. Love, love, LOVE Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil. It's super dry here in CO, and I lube the crap out of my hair with it (wet, just out of the shower & some times even when it's dry, right before bed). Not so much the roots, but definitely the ends. Good stuff!

@Niccirf I was surprised at how dry CO is! My friend was there for vet school, and it took her 2 years to find a good lip balm. For those 2 years, her lips were constantly chapped. I could imagine that you'd need to keep your hair moisturized, too!

Ohhhhh! Don't even get me started on lip balm!! My absolute FAVORITE is Pangea Organics Egyptian Fennel & Sweet Orange. It's pricey, but lasts a really long time and is heaven in a tube!!

Off topic, but is your friend in school at CSU? I work in vet specialty medicine and know they have a good program up there.

@niccirf I think I turned her on to Nivea chapsticks. The oversized tubes with giant pastel caps are the same exact product as Labello, which is available in Europe. I bought a tube when I was in Italy 10 years ago and LOVED it, and I was really disappointed at how hard it was to get in the US (and expensive).

Yep, she was at CSU! She graduated last year. It's a phenomenal program; she's way ahead of her current internmates who studied at some other schools.

  • @Niccirf and @ @phira where can one purchase your lip balm of choice? I am dying for some good lip balm - preferably some type that I can go pick up at a store tomorrow because I seriously need it.

I have color treated/bleached straight hair. It needs a lot of tlc right now.

    2. What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
I use Biolage Hydrotherapy Shampoo and Conditioning Balm

    3. Do you have any products you use post-shower that are a must have?
My must have post-shower product is Moroccan Oil and I also like to use a leave in conditioner. Right now I'm using "Its a 10" leave in treatment. If my hair is being particularly uncooperative I'll use a serum (Paul Mitchell or Biosilk).

@lalalaurita ~ Whole Foods used to carry it, but last time I checked (…after the monster dog ate my last tube), I was out of luck. As far as I know now, it's only available online. Tear.

**edited to add that I've used the Nivea stuff before and really liked it, too!**

I will also hop on the Nivea lip balm love bandwagon.  I struggle with dry lips every winter, to where I can get cracks in the corners of my mouth at times.  Nivea lip balm is very moisturizing...you can't go wrong!
  • THIS is the best lip stuff EVER. I have used this since college, and nothing else works on my lips. It's big - it looks like a glue stick. It makes it hard to lose, and it lasts SO long (and I put it on like 100 times a day).
