Paper Flower Bouquet??

What is your opinion on paper flower bouquets? My BFF is super crafty and makes gorgeous flowers on her cricut (I think thats the name) and she recommended doing paper flowers for the wedding. My whole wedding is DIY so it goes with the theme. I just love fresh flowers but I also like the idea of paper because it's different and totally DIY. TIA

    @roxymabel

    I would try posting this on the DIY board as well. You might have better luck there.

    I've seen some really neat and we'll done paper flowers at weddings...i personally don't like flowers, we'll I like them because they smell nice and are pretty when they are alive but they die so quickly and preservation is very expensive too.

    Do what you like. Paper flowers can be very pretty. Some people prefer real flowers, but your marriage is no less valid because you carried a paper flower bouquet instead of real flowers.

    My advice would be if you are carrying a paper flower bouquet, you should use paper flowers elsewhere as well. Centerpieces, bridesmaid bouquets, altar decorations, etc.

    Thanks Everyone! I think I'm gonna go for it. I feel like it's different and the ones she makes are gorgeous.

    @chibiyui I am planning on using them for all areas. Thanks for your suggestion :)

    I made coffee filter roses for our centerpieces. They were beautiful - I still get compliments on them. Go for it.

    I think it depends on what the flowers look like & the style of your wedding. If it's noticable that they are paper or run more on the casual side, it might not look as nice say if you are doing a traditional church with a ball gown or a fancy wedding dress. But if your wedding is more casual, they might go just perfectly.

    I completely agree with @erikan73 - I went with paper flower bouquets for our bridesmaids and a brooch bouquet for me.  Our wedding ceremony is on the beach and our reception is at a carrousel - so very non-traditional whimsical themed.  Our centerpieces will be candy bunches that look like hydrangea from a distance.  Not everyone gets the no-floral thing - but if you love it and it fits with your other elements - go for it!  At the end of the day - cost me $15 for the ream of paper (also used with invitations and other decorations), $6 for some buttons, $2 for the wire, $6 for ribbon and I made 4 BM bouquets, 8 boutoneers, and 2 corsages.
