Couples Resorts in Jamaica

Has anyone stayed at one of the Couples Resorts in Jamaica? It's one of the most reasonable priced all-inclusive resorts I have come across but also has a good rating. I was just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience (good or bad) they could share, and which resort did you stay at? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Re: Couples Resorts in Jamaica

  • I've been to CSS, and will be going to CN at the end of the month!!!  Couples has phenomenal employees who exceed every expectation one could have for their vacation.  The food is great, and the inclusions cannot be beat.  They even include SCUBA (which barely any other AI's do.)  I would absolutely recommend Couples to anyone looking for a wonderful vaca.

Just a bit of advice though.  If you're planning a small, intimate DW - Couples is a fantastic choice.  If you're planning a huge all out bash, Couples is likely not the place to go.  Hence the name, most vacationers there are Couples.  Many choose couples for the romantic ambiance it offers.

Hosting a 20+ person wedding at the resort can completely kill the vibe (for those not in attendance of your wedding.)  I've seen other guests very upset that they cannot get a reservation because the large wedding group has taken over the resort, so to speak.  A few years ago, CTI hosted a 110 person wedding and shut down one of the restaurants to hold the reception.  I heard there were some very pissed off guests.  You likely do not want to be on the receiving end of that one.  KWIM?

  • I went to CN in 2007...I would go back in a heartbeat!! I agree that it is more of a romance vibe. If that is what you want....go for it!!!
  • I have been to couples San Souci and Couples Tower Isle. I witnessed a few DWs while at Tower Isle and unless they were out on the island, they were not intimate or private at all. One couple got married at a trellis and just on the other side, there was a group of screaming drunks in the pool. I felt bad for the couple, unless they didn't mind! Sans Souci is a much smaller property and was much quieter than Tower Isle.

While I have not been, i've have heard the more romantic resorts are the two in Negril- Swept Away and Negril.

  • Thank you all for the awesome advice!
