Wedding Pictures

So I'm trying to think of some "must have photos" we wanted taken during the wedding.  A big must of mine is the photographer getting a picture of FI as he sees me walking down the aisle ( we have two photographers for the day).  I also trust our photographer enough to know he is going to get a lot of the standard wedding photos I want ( dress on hanger, cake pictures, family photos, ect)So I wanted to ask:

1. Where there any photos your photographer captured that you loved, that were not on your list of must have photos?

2. Was there a picture your photographer missed that you wish he/she had taken?

Re: Wedding Pictures

  • Great question! My photographer has asked for a list of photos we want and I don't even know where to start!

  • I absolutely love the pics of my dad helping me clasp my bracelet and necklace. I also love the pictures of me putting on my mom's corsage and dad's boutonnière.

  • We gave our photographer a very brief list of must-have shots, most of which were posed family groupings or unique to our Quaker ceremony, which I wasn't sure she'd be familiar with. We preferred that she use her artistic judgement to capture our wedding as it happened. So the vast majority of photos she caught weren't requested. I think my favorite is this one, where she snuck behind the trees we got married in front of. That tree was planted when my husband was born, from a cutting from his grandfather's yard.

The only thing my photographer missed was a photo of both of our rings. I just assumed she'd take it. It wasn't super important to me (or else I would have specified), and it doesn't really matter because we wear our rings every day! But don't assume your photog will take a shot.
