What is your absolute most hated food

Mine is cucumbers. Even the smell of cucumbers makes me cringe and lose my appetite.

Re: What is your absolute most hated food

  • I'm not sure I can pick just one!!! I'd say seafood, though, and especially fish. I cannot stand the smell.

  • Mushrooms.  They're the only thing I'm allergic to, plus I think they're just really gross.

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • Peas. I've always hated peas. When I was a baby my parents tried to trick me into eating peas by hiding it in my other food. I would eat my food and then spit the peas out. I can't even stand the smell of them.

  • So hard to pick just one. I will go with sour kraut. Did I even spell that right?

  • I also hate mushrooms - I'm not allergic, I just hate them. They're fungus. Ugh.

  • Another vote for mushrooms -- yuck!

I don't know if you spelled it right but I hate it too. That would be my second most hated food.
  • Liver. I also hate uncooked cilantro, like if it is sprinkled on top of food. Oh, and tofu. The texture freaks me out.

  • I'm not a picky eater. I love food in nearly all its forms. But I cannot develop a taste for green tea. That lipton tea stuff in a bottle is okay, but straight up brewed green tea is so nasty. I've tried many times since it's so good for you, boosts your metabolism, but blech.

Not a fan of ham or corned beef but I'll still eat them. Green tea is one of very few I'd-have-to-be-under-gunpoint-to-swallow-that level of hated foods.

  • Oh man, I love all of your hated foods!

The only food that I think that I legitimately don't like is brussel sprouts.

I also don't care for Fi's gnocchi, but don't tell him that I said that!
  • I HATE sausage

  • I believe its sauerkraut
  • Geez there's so many.  Hard to choose.

    Beef tips with gravy.  UGH.

    Beets.

  • I hate cilantro. Tastes soapy to me.
  • Green beans. Something about the hint of bitterness combined with the texture grosses me out.
  • Peas and tuna casserole!

Oh, actually, I don't care for green beans either.

    And most gourds.
  • Onions. Ugh. The thought of crunching into an unexpected onion makes me gag. Gross. And they smell like really bad BO.

  • Most cooked vegetables are a no go with me. And raw fish...nope never gonna happen... I am particular about most foods. I am not a foodie in any sort of way. I like comfort foods, things that are flavorful and hearty but not "complicated"

  • I'm another one who dislikes sauerkraut! I have eaten some pretty gnarly things (where my family is from, if it's slower or dumber than you, it's food), but I cannot stand the smell or taste of sauerkraut. Kimchi is fine, though. Go figure.

  • I like pretty much everything you ladies have listed! I absolutely love sauerkraut, I'll eat it as a snack on rye crackers…BF says I'm a better German that he is (I'm all British background).

I'm allergic to most nuts, especially peanuts, and avocado, so those are high on my list! I also hate zucchini.

if i had to pick one it would also be onions.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Avocadoes. Coconut. Pecans. Walnuts. Anything cabbage, made with cabbage, looks like cabbage, or sounds like cabbage. Fish. Kiwi.
  • Peas and beans of all descriptions. Anything with small/fine seeds/pips (pips in general freak me out, but I'm "okay" [read: will only freak out a little and calm down very quickly] if I can eat around them or spit them out) so guava, fig, berries. I'm allergic to tomato and orange, but I love the flavour. FML.

That said, unless it's offal (except liver) or something that's actually going to make me sick (panic attacks included), I'll eat it or at least try it.

I think it tastes soapy too!  I HATE that stuff, along with liver and FISH (except tuna from a packet for tuna salad sandwiches, I cannot explain that one).

I wish I was a foodie but I am not.  I'm kinda picky and I like comfort food...a lot.
  • Seafood... especially salmon.  It is so hated, I won't let people order it for brunch.  The smell will actually make me throw up, if I have not had enough sleep. Goat cheese and Gorgonzola... are you kidding me... it smells like feet!  My other hated food is all nuts.  I like smooth peanut butter (only in peanut butter and banana sandwiches) but detest all other nuts. Peas (except snow peas.. love those!) and hate all beans.  I also will not touch any frozen vegetable or canned vegetable... I hate mushy veggies! DIVA!!!! Lol.
  • I like a lot of these things like fish! Mushrooms I don't buy but if I go to a restaurant and they are mixed in I'll suck it up and eat them.

I think mine is any kind of beans- green, kidney, black, refried. And tomatoes.

The aversion to cilantro is usually genetic. Some people taste a particular compound in cilantro that makes it taste awful. To everyone else, it tastes pretty nondescript. I love cilantro and would put it in everything if I could, but my sister can't stand a hint of it.

I'm on team mushroom haters, personally.

  • Oh I forgot olives. I like them okay in a dish or on pizza or whatever, but by themselves as an hors d'oeuvres ickkkk.

  • Another person who loathes onions here!!! They are right behind fish for me.

I actually hate most things people mentioned, with the exception of bacon. YUM.
