Wedding Woes

Morning

Who has a jellybean hangover?  How was the weekend?

Friday I had Bunco.  There was much liquor involved.  10 people polished off a fifth of gin, a pitcher of sangria, several bottles of wine, and untold amounts of beer.  It was awesome fun though.

Saturday we had haircuts and egg dyeing and general fun.

Sunday I went to 730 Mass.  Holy cow there were a ton of people.  They added 100 chairs to the Narthex and still had standing room only.  At 730.  For the 930 and 1130 they actually run two Masses at once and simulcast into a third location.

Then we hit my parents for food and egg hunts and silly string.  Generally a good time, but now back to reality.  We're having friends over Saturday and I need to figure out what to make for people I've never really eaten with.

Re: Morning

  • Morning.

Our weekend was busy but fun.  Saturday we were at the ball park all day but we didn't make it to the championship so we only played 3 games instead of 4.  Son hit his first homerun out of the park.  We were so proud.  I got teary-eyed behind my sunglasses but fought it back.  He was so happy.  Someone went and found the ball in the woods and gave it to him.  That night DH and I celebrated with beers and wine, respectively.  We all ended up a little sunburned as well.

Yesterday was nice.  We had a flat tire on our way to my parents' house, which was a bummer, but we just put the donut on and kept going.  The weather was gorgeous for the egg hunt.  My mom filled 360 eggs for 8 kids.  We also had birthday cake for my 11yo niece.
  • I spent most of the weekend nursing a hangover.  My own fault.  I need to find a better stress reliever.

Had dinner at a new restaurant with some friends on Saturday night.  Had a good time.  Sunday my uterus started it's monthly battle with my body re: eviction so spent the rest of the day trying to just lay down and be comfortable.

  • We mostly spent the weekend at home. My focus of the weekend was building a resort in The Sims. I have high aspirations in life.

On Saturday, we went and got sushi because I needed a fix, and at (thankfully) the END of our meal, the most obnoxious family came into the room where we were sitting alone. The grandfather in the group wanted to taste test things on the menu before ordering anything, and when the server was able to get a taste of the sukiyaki broth for him, he berated the server for not bringing him a spoon. Homes, this is Japanese food. You pick up the bowl and drink it. He also pronounced sukiyaki incorrectly despite being a tool about other things on the menu, so that pissed me off too.

Husband and I have decided that we're gonna try to go to Stockholm and Kiruna this December to visit friends and possibly catch the Northern Lights that eluded us in February. I am pleased that I have given my husband Wanderlust.

Friday I played phone tag w/ doctor's offices and had a migraine and eventually dissolved into a sobbing mess in the middle of the kitchen floor.
But we dyed eggs, and that part was fun.

Saturday, the kiddo and I spent w/ my parents and sis, doing a mini-easter (but with KFC instead of ham :)

Yesterday we did the egg hunt and basket thing, then I pressured the Mr. to go to church (2x a year, if he's not working I ask him to come.  There's no 'make', but there is a 'dude, 2 hours a year when you're not ethically opposed to it?'  angle), then we drove the hour+ to BIL and beebee's house.  Amazing that w/ my FIL isn't around, we all manage to avoid politics and have a good time.
Buffy was good in spite of her lack of nap, she mostly liked playing in the dirt at the playground.

4 separate people made my kid baskets.  I'm not anti-candy, I normally don't mind having it in the house---but this is ridiculous.  I brought a bag to work and may bring more.
  • No jellybeans (more like mini eggs :-/)

@6fsn, I saw your tagged pics of bunco night. It did look like a ton of fun!

Holy Week is done! Although DD really got into it, even if she was sulking through most of the evening services (I could even see that DD was getting tired during rehearsals)

Saturday was a glorious day outside, DD had an
Easter egg hunt with her church friends (win) with adult beverages (double, triple win!). Good time!

Sunday was services, nap, Easter egg hunt at home, quick lunch and dinner. Also went outside and planted a few more plants, as I need to get most of the planting done before I head OOT.

  • See 's chocolate here, nom nom nom.

Weekend was busy but good. Saturday was cleaning and prepping for Easter bunch while dealing with a not super sick but super cranky child. She did take a 4! hour nap that day which helped. She just slept horrible Friday and Saturday night which took it out of DH and I.

Yesterday morning was church, brunch, nap, then dinner at my parents. Today I am up, mostly at it, and at work. But I forgot my breast pump. I am close enough to home I could possibly run home and get it, but I will likely only get my half hour for lunch looking at the schedule, so I will likely carry on without it.
