Private ceremony~invite wording for small dinner after

We are having a small private ceremony with just us & our parents. We plan to have a small dinner at a restaurant after for close family but not sure how to word invitations. Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

The pleasure of your company is requested
    at the wedding reception of
    Bride's Full Name
    and
    Groom's Full Name
    Day, Date
    time o'clock
    Venue
    Address
    City, State

  • Not to be nosy but isn't that a wedding picture in your signature? Is the ceremony related to your wedding or a renewel or a religious thing?

  • Yes, OP.  If you are already married, you can only have a vow renewal, and a celebration party - not a wedding reception.  Here would be the  proper wording:

The pleasure of your company is requested
at a reception to celebrate the marriage of
Mr. and Mrs. John Already Married
    Day, date
    time o'clock
    Venue
    Address
    City, State

    Rsvp.

You should not use the words "Bride", "Groom", or "Wedding" if you are already married.

  • She was married last year, and now she's having another ceremony and dinner on their one-year anniversary.  http://forums.theknot.com/discussion/900319/opinions-civil-ceremony-this-year-and-traditional-wedding-next-year#latest

  • In that case, OP, you are having a vow renewa and an anniversary party.  Here would be a better wording.  It really helps to have the details.

The pleasure of your company is requested
to celebrate the wedding anniversary of
Mr. and Mrs. John Already Married
    Day, date
    time o'clock

    Address
    City, State

  • Divorced from first marriage - it didn't last long unfortunately. Getting remarried. Can't get signature to delete for some reason.

  • In that case, the first wording would be best for you.  Best wishes.  Go onto the Knottie Tech Help board, and they will tell you how to fix your siggy.
