Help! Vegas Sign - permit needed?

My husband and I got married in Vegas last year, and this board was so helpful! Our one year anniversary is in a week and a half, and we'll be in Vegas, so we're trying to put together a quick vow renewal. The pastor who married us will be performing the vow renewal, and we've already hired a photographer. We want to do this at the welcome sign....does anyone know if we need a permit or if we can/should reserve a time??

and shame on me, I just realized that I never wrote my vendor reviews from last year! (

Re: Help! Vegas Sign - permit needed?

  • A vow renewal is just a ceremony for the sake of having a ceremony; it is not a legal procedure so you don't need to do anything other than find someone to preside over your ceremony; they don't have to be an actual licensed officiant or anything.  The only problem you'll run into at the Vegas sign is grumpy people waiting in line if you take too long.  Actual legal marriages occur at the sign all the time and no special process is followed other than having a state-registered officiant preside and file the paperwork afterward.
