Mirage Check-in - B

This was probably the worst experience of our entire wedding week.  Our wedding planner had confirmed a one-bedroom tower suite with early check in (between 1-2pm & strip view).  We arrived at 2:15 and went to check in and were told our room wasn’t ready.  I started to freak out a little, we had driven and my dress was laying in the car in the heat.  The guy did a little work on his computer and said he had found a room, I confirmed that it was strip view.  We ran up to check it out, AMAZING view, but it was a smoking room and smelled horrible.  I called down and they gave us a non-smoking room, we went to that room and it was a mountain view.  So, back downstairs to check-in.  After a lot of arguing and tears (I had a total bridezilla meltdown), we got upgraded to a penthouse, top floor and partial strip view and pool view.  People still loved the view and the room was really nice, but it wasn’t what I had my heart set on nor what my wedding coordinator had guaranteed me.

Mirage Penthouse Tower Suite – Family Meet & Greet – A+

We had our families to the suite for a family meet & greet before the big one with everyone.  We had about 12 people, we had some drinks and light appetizers and everyone mingled.  Our parents had met before, but not our siblings so it was nice for all the family to meet.

Mirage Cravings Buffet – Meet & Greet – A+

We had reserved an area for 50 people about two months prior.  The Cravings Buffet at the Mirage does not have private rooms, but they had an area over a pony wall (half wall) where they sat us.  We had checked in with them earlier in the day and discussed how we wanted the tables set up.  We arrived with our family a few minutes early and everything was set up.  My FI waited outside and greeted everyone and told them where to go.  No one had to wait in line or anything.  The dinner also includes select beer and wine.  You had to go to the bar to get drinks so it worked out well for those that wanted something else, because they could just pay as they went.  Although, most opted for the included beer and wine.  We had three no-shows and since they waited until the end to charge us we didn’t have to pay for the no-shows.  Buffet was $34.99 pp, they included the gratuity and $100 set up fee.

  • The room worked out in the end, but I really wanted to see the volcano from our room!

Meet and greet went really well, we had it from 5 to 7, so people still had time to do something else.  A few just walked around since they had never been to Vegas and others went to various shows.

And yes, Val, almost two weeks!  Time goes by so fast.  I already want to go back to Vegas!
