Mother Son dance?

Any suggestions for a good mother/son dance song?  He likes mostly classic rock, although once and a while he listens to country. (Just nothing too "country").  He and his mother are really close and he cannot find the right song.  Any suggestions?

Re: Mother Son dance?

  • No, sorry, but I do have a funny story about this: So, my fiance's mother is a little nutty and is extremely sensitive and overly concerned about things. For instance, she got offended when he suggested that they dance to The Riddle by Five for Fighting, because it is sung by a man and therefore is a song about a father and a son and "I thought this was the MOTHER son dance!"... you get the picture. Super sensitive.

So he told her to pick out a song, and this is what she came up with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WKCj2s8pmI

We couldn't stop laughing when we listened to it. We don't know how to break the news that they really can't use this song... sigh.
  • OMG isnt that song awful!!!
  • I personally think Billy Joel's "Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)" is a good song for a father/daughter dance OR a mother/son dance.

How about Days Like This by Van Morrison?  That would have a perfect classic rock feel, and it's a sweet song.

Or Sweet Child of Mine Sheryl Crow version?
  • What about Simple Man by Lynard Skynard? My FI and his mom also love classic rock and he chose this as a surprise for her....(hope the link works)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHQ_aTjXObs
