Things I will never understand....

1) NWR- driving around the gym parking lot to find the closest spot...then see that person walking on the treadmill five minutes later.
2) NWR- free bagels at the gym!? Sabotage.
3) Registering for items that you don't need or registering for the top of the line items when you wouldn't pay the price for it yourself. The one you have in your kitchen works perfectly well and there is no reason to upgrade.

  • I never understood the free bagels at the gym either! Or the Pizza night! The gym should be the one place I don't have food temptation!

The people that drive around the gym parking lot make me insane! There are tons of open spots. It's sunny and 70 degrees. Yet, you will drive up and down every aisle just because you don't want to park at the end. You're going inside to work out! How are you that lazy?

And yes, when I belonged to Planet Fitness, they always had pizza and bagels. What the hell? Why are you serving unhealthy food to your patrons. Get some fucking fruits and vegetables.

Now what I don't understand is people that don't return their shopping carts at the grocery store. You just walked around the entire store, yet you can't walk 10 more feet to put your cart in the corral? You'd rather just leave it pushed against someone else's car? I swear, all of the scratches on my car doors are from parking at the grocery store.

probably because they can't see as well as they used to and have slower reaction skills, so it feels safer. :)  At least that was always my assumption.

  • I will never understand people on the subway who want to stand up and say "excuse me" before the train has come to a full stop. First of all, you aren't going anywhere till the doors open, so slow your roll. Second of all, I am not going to let go of the pole and risk flying into the giant backpack behind me (there is always a giant backpack behind me, apparently filled with rocks) when the train does stop just so you can be the first one out. NO! You chose to sit; you do not also get to be the first one out! Third of all, this almost exclusively happens at a hub, where, I guarantee you, 90% of the people in the car will be getting off. No one is going to trap you, sitting person! We will let you out, but we are not going to risk our own safety to do it!

I will never understand why some people choose to be gluten-free without ever knowing what gluten IS.

I will never understand why the Kardashians are famous.

I will never understand why some people on planes won't turn off their phones when they're supposed to. It's not a difficult request.

  • Ditto @emmaaa on the love for Apple products. I just don't get it. Their products are way overpriced and not any better than the many, many less expensive options!

I do not understand why people feel the need to find creative ways to ask their friends to be in their bridal party. Just ask! Why does everything have to be a production these days?!

Quote boxes are not working today. Yes!! What is with this trend? Just ask. I took my MOH out to dinner and asked her. And it was an awesome moment. She cried. It doesn't need to be a production.

    3) Why not?  how do you know they wouldn't buy themselves eventually.  We put some high end stuff for the extra discount to close out the registry.  How do  you know they don't "need" the item. DH is a chef and has different "needs" than another couple.

    1) - I lived in a place that had only 4 floors.   The gym was on the 2nd floor.  Units were only on floors 2-4.  We had the SLOWEST elevator is the history of elevators.     I can not tell you  how many people took the elevator to/from the gym?  Seriously?  You could walk up the stairs before the elevator would even get to floor to pick you up.

I do not get people who use their family/friends handicap when the handicapped person is NOT in the car.  it's so damn lazy on their part and they take a space of someone who really needs it.   Of course this if for people I know personally, not just random people because I do not know if there is a non-visible issue.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  • People having more kids when they can't afford the ones they have. Sorry to be a giant a-hole here but if you are receiving any kind of monetary/ food assistance (without being disabled) you shouldn't be having another!

TRUE STORY- girl from my high school is 29 years old. She has eight children with 3 different men (2 sets of twins) and she has never worked one job one day in her life. She's not with rich men or supported by her parents- she has no problem telling everyone about her awesome welfare income.

  • Confession: I have both a home gym and bagels at my house...plus cupcakes...No shame!

    Things I do not understand:
    - Why people create new features in their yards or do major work on their homes that they are in no way qualified to do. It doesn't actually save you money because when you fail it just costs more for professionals who know what they are doing to come in and clean up your mess. (Back story: My DH and I have a pond in our backyard that was a total DIY project by the last owner and SURPRISE he put in a completely inappropriate pump that would never keep it filtered and clean. Bottom line it would costs thousands to get the pond in workable shape so we're ripping it out.)

    - Why it takes me an hour and a half every day to get 30 miles to work.

They are like socks, or pens...no one knows where they all go. Add bobby pins to that list as well.

I should clarify. This is a friend who already owns, for example, a roaster... a perfectly nice middle of the road one that you use maybe once a month, why register for one that is top of the line? I guess it's more about waste for me.

I get what you are saying. I don't like it when people have something that works well but they register for an upgrade. I do find it wasteful.

I will never understand how there can be 10 cheap wine glasses around and only one of the nice ones out and it will be the one that is broken.

I also have yet to figure out how no matter how many times FSS's ugly, way too small, torn up, camo pants end up in the Goodwill bag he has them on the next day.

  • How my one coworker continues to be late to work every day, despite all of us being told that we need to be here by 8:30 or they're going to start making us come in at 8. Seriously, how hard is it to be to work on time?! I don't want to have to get up even earlier just because one person can't get her shit together. FWIW, I get here by 8:20 every day.
