Calling all busty ladies...and I mean busty!!

I haven't tried on any dress yet, a little too soon for me, but I have been looking on-line. I have huge boobs (36E) and I'm worried I will have a hard time finding a dress. I love the strapless look, but wearing a strapless bra is nearly impossible, they don't hold for shit! I know they have halters and ones with straps, but even a lot of those require a strapless bra!

Any ladies out there with the same problems? If you already found a dress, what kind of cut was it?

a good dress, with a built in corset will be able to hold you.  The holding up of a strapless dress comes from the boning distributing the weight through your torso and onto your hips.

You need to go to a proper bra fitter if you want a strapless.  I'm a 38G-H and I have one.  They aren't cheap, but they're engineered to keep the ladies where they belong.

I cannot find a GOOD local bra fitter. The ones in my area are department stores and I didn't like them and don't think they are really trained properly. The one strapless I do have, that it just OK, is a Lane Byrant one

Nope, Lane Bryant doesn't count...I have to travel 2 hrs to a major city to get a good one, and trust me it's worth it. You're likely to find them in mom and pop stores in european neighbourhoods in big cities since north american manufacturers have been VERY slow to catch on that sizes exist above DD. A GOOD big boob bra will likely cost betwwn $150 - $200 minimum.

I guess I'll need to look a little harder. $200 is totally worth is, if they can find be a good, supportive bra. I need to go to those ladies, that have that show about bras

I am a 36G and my strapless dress has enough support that I could go without a strapless bra and be completely fine. In fact, I am considering doing just that. My dress has the boning in it that @LDay2014 mentioned and it works wonders. We have a shop called Bedtime Boutique where I live that sells all manner of lingerie in every size you can think of, as well as swimwear by cup size. They know how to fit bras, and give me TONS of suggestions when I go. My bras are super comfortable and supportive and cost around $75, but I live in central IL.

Just know that when you buy your dress make sure that you order the correct size. Meaning order the size that correlates to your chest measurement. That way the dress will definitely fit your chest while the rest can be taken in and adjusted accordingly.

I'm a 38H, and I wore a strapless dress.   Consider a longline bra.  www.lindathebralady.com has longlines and strapless bras in all sizes.  I bought mine there. I did have to have the cups slightly altered because they went up too high and showed at the top of my dress.  But, my seamstress was able to do that for $10.00.  

I will say this... some boobs are perkier than others.  There is NO way I could wear my dress without a bra without my boobs looking saggy.  Having cups sewn into the dress was not an option for me, because most of the cups that get sewn into the dresses don't go bigger than a size C or D.   My seamstress tried it, and it looked horrid. 

I also had a snap put into the inside of my dress and the outside of my longline bra that sort of pulled the dress against my body.  With the size of my chest, the dress gave me somewhat of a uniboob look and you could see down my dress.  One little plastic snap on the inside of my dress between my boobs solved that problem.  It pulled the dress back and gave me two boobs instead of one.

P.S.S.  -  Lane bryant strapless bras have come a long way in the past year.  They still aren't as good as a "GOOD" strapless, but they changed their design probably about 6 months ago and they are MUCH nicer and hold much better now.

I'm a 40G. I got an amazing regular strapless bra from Nordstrom. I'l be honest, it wasn't cheap, but bra's for women of cup size, usually aren't.  Tag me if you want the brand name. I didn't tug once at it all even with sweating or dancing. I wore a strapless dress for my wedding. My word of advise, get the size dress you need to fit your chest & have the rest of the dress altered to fit the rest of your body. If you order the size you need for the rest of your body, it will look too small on top & the dress will look horrible.

that's my problem...can't find a good strapless! Don't know where to buy one. I thought Lane Bryant was good, but it sounds like there is better! Where does one even start?

^^ I  agree with @erikan73   I bought my dress in a size 20 to accomodate my bust.  I had to have about 5 inches taken in around the waist & hips, which measured closer to a 14/16.  Fit your largest size, and take everywhere else in

I have big boobs, not as big as yours but big none the less. A corset dress could be a great choice. They hold you in tight tight tight. Honestly a wedding dress and a good tailor will lead the way to breast/bra enlightenment. Seriously I'm not joking, they will figure it out for you. At Alfred Angelo the tailor came out to talk to me and tell me what she could do for my breasts with a dress I was intersted in.

I am in the 30-32 band, cups around H-HH. Parfait has a decent strapless but it uses US cup sizing so I'm well out of it.

By Baby's Rules had a strapless she had good results with.

How self supporting are your boobs? I'm very good there, so if I take a vertically seamed cup or a half cup bra, I can get by with pinning the straps down. I actually bought a bra just for that and cut the straps off. You may prefer adding some of the silicone tape to the top of the cups and the band to keep it up. I'm a major Tutti Rouge fan, but others have found their Spring/Summer 2013 Birds of a Feather works strapless even for those with less self support.

I actually took a photo of the inside of my dress so you could see how we did the snaps.  We did one in the middle of the bust, and one on each side under the arm area.  Just to make sure that the dress stayed up.

 ETA:   The ones under the arms were just for extra support. Not really necessary.

I am a 38DDD+ and was able to find an Allure Couture gown, size 18 (street size is 12/14) that fits me perfectly in all areas. I will probably just wear a strapless bra, but might not even need that. The dress is not a corset, but has straps on the inside that come together and provide excellent support. It can be done, for sure.

Oleg Cassini fit and flare have a ton of room if everything else works. Pretty accurate to street size also. But I'm apparently built for fit and flares at 42/31/45.

I think that depends on the dress' shape and material and the boobs. I'm like a B.5 only and I tried on some dresses that would've needed a bra. I would buy a strapless or long line or whatever you might need (leave the tags on) and try it on with your dress, then try the cups and see what looks better.

That's gorgeous!!! Sorry I don't have any advice but I LOVE that dress. But the material does look "thick" and substantial enough that you could possibly go with cups. See how it looks at a fitting. Good luck!

Only problem I've seen with cups added to the dress is it runs towards a uniboob look.

You said your band size is a 36E, right?  There are tons of really good strapless bras in your size.  You might have an issue buying a longline, because your belly width is a probably bigger than your bra size width, but you should easily be able to find a good strapless in a 36E.

Consider going with one that has molded cups.  Those will give you more lift and support.

Based on what country bra sizing? Since 36G are radically different sizes between US and UK as an example.

@QueerFemme‌ - again, I love you! Panache Evie basque is now on it's way to me. If it fits like Panache normally does plus the back appearance, I think it will hide perfectly under my very likely new dress. Back picture that I'm AW all over because I have serious love on this pretty dress shows a Curvy Kate Showgirl back that was riding a little high because I'm pretty squished in the dress. Any vote on if Panache should hide? I'm thinking I can snap the back in place also. Only issue may be my big booty in the way.

My bad. I got you, and the OP confused as the same person.  OP is a 36E. 

this bra is officially to be worn under swimsuits,(I'm not sure why) but comes in a 52D.  It looks like it might work!  It also is fast drying, so it would probably help with boob sweat issues.
