Invitations and Out of the Country Guests

Re: Invitations and Out of the Country Guests

  • It's not hard to calculate postage on an internationally bound invite, you can find the details on usps.com if you know the weight of the invitation. I sent 3 international invitations, but one was an APO so a regular first class stamp was fine. The other two went to India and Peru, and I also emailed them to make sure they got the envelope. Of course, I did have one brain fart and put a single US stamp on the reply envelopes for those invites...oops! When I realized my mistake I let them know that they can email me their response. Bottom line, send the invitation, remember the return postage, and verify that they received it.
  • Don't make assumptions. We have 12 people invited from overseas (mostly UK and Japan) and my mom was convinced that no more than 1 person would come. I have only sent STDs so far but have gotten confirmations that 10 are coming- and 1 has asked about bringing other people!

I'm so glad we budgeted for everyone that we invited!
