  • @Ollie08 - OMG THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND EXCITED!!!!!

  • @Dignity100 - You're so right. He's also terrible at keeping secrets, so it would have come out eventually. I just wasn't trying to pry it out of him lol

@Buddysmom80 & @Swazzle - I KNOW, RIGHT?! I'm surprisingly cool and calm about the whole thing. I absolutely freaking adore this man, and I'm good if it happens now, 6 months from now, a year from now. I'm good. :-D

Got back from Vegas last night around 9pm. I'm absolutely exhausted. My boss told me to take a half day today, so I'll probably leave work around 1pm, grab a few things at the grocery store, and then take a very long nap. Today is also the day I start back on my normal diet and exercise routine, so I'll go to the gym for a while after I wake up.

It was such a stressful weekend. NEVER stay at the LVH hotel in Vegas. Disgusting. After standing in line to check in for 30 minutes, I get to my room to find it COVERED in stains and one of the drawers in the dresser was broken and just hanging out. I went down to complain, and they moved me to a different room that was an "upgrade," but they only had a smoking one available for that night. The room was nice but should honestly have been their standard room, not an upgrade... anyway, they moved me again to a non-smoking room the next day, but when I first got there the maids had left the dirty towels in the room and the drain in the tub was clogged and there was standing water. They fixed everything by the time I was done with my meetings and comped two of my meals, but UGH SO GROSS!

On Saturday I worked from 9am to 11pm, and there was some work-related silly drama that lasted most of the day. Sunday I worked from 7:30am to 4:30pm and then had the night off (yay!) and went and saw Zumanity. It was so good!

I also found out over the weekend that the preliminary, brainstorming Wedding Party list FI and I had made was leaked by the best man to one of my potential BMs. SUPER PISSED about that. What's done is done and I have to get over it, but dammit I'm mad.

Maybe once I get some sleep I'll be less crabby. :)

@swazzle so sorry to hear about your CW's dog! That's terrible.

@Blackbird20 Oh no! I really hope it's not food poisoning and that you feel better soon. Being sick like that is awful, but when it happens while you're at work... no bueno. :(

    @Peaseblossom55 HI MARRIED LADY!

@500days Whoa whoa whoa, your car wouldn't stop on the highway?! Holy shit. So glad you're okay! Wow.

@TwoDimes Aw that's a really sweet idea for a birthday present. I think he'll love it!

@severmilli12 I really hope you get the officiant mess ironed out soon. :( I'm so sorry this has become so stressful for you.

@cu97tiger I'm sorry to hear that about Fritz. I know next to nothing about dogs and separation anxiety, so I have no words of advice, but I really hope you're able to figure out something soon. *hugs* Also, good luck on marathon training! It may end up being a good source of stress relief for you during such a busy time.

@blabla89 BTW, I was totally creeping on your engagement pics last night. FI was asking me about engagement pics, and I showed him the ones you posted not too long ago. My favorite is the one in your sig, and since he's 6'2" to my 4'10", I was like, "WE HAVE TO DO THAT POSE!" :-P

@Blue&White I'm so glad you're out of the hospital!

@buddysmom80 I hope Buddy's ok! So sorry you're going through this.

  • @swazzle (et al) still sore but that's probably due to no pain medicine haha. I tend to take it in the evenings as gravity makes the pain worse or something. Out of work till a least 7/11 so I have time to rest/heal too
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @weewittlewizabeth That's funny! My FI isn't actually much taller than me...which is why the shot is only from the shoulders down

  • I'm at the point in wedding planning where I am now second guessing a lot of things, or wanting to completely change things. Anyone else have a point like that?

Originally I didn't want a veil. I have a lace headband that I had planned on wearing. I put my dress and everything else on last night and stood in the mirror staring at myself for like 20 minutes because something was missing...now I'm pretty sure I want to wear a veil, even tho FI isn't a fan of them. UGH. I don't know. I hate being indecisive. I'm also second guessing the cake. The guest book. Song choices. We already changed the First Dance song. I just need to stop and calm down. I picked all that stuff originally because thats what I wanted. I need to remember that. At least I'm not second guessing FI or my dress ;)

I think this officiant thing is getting me all crazy.

  • @severmilli12 - I originally didn't want to wear a veil but when I found my dress, I felt the same way: like something was missing. I got a very simple one (fingertip length with a pencil edge). I also figured when the hell else in my life will I get to wear one so why not? As for the rest of it, just breathe! I went through that too. Everything is going to come together and be PERFECT!

  • @Severmilli12 - Maybe if you tried on a couple veils it would help you be more sure in your decision. And if you do want one, I'm sure your FI would love the way a veil looks on you even if he doesn't like them in general.

@weewittlewizabeth - Holy cow! That is a huge height difference between you and your FI! I'm pretty short (5 foot) but BF is only 8 inches taller than me. I dated a guy who was a foot taller than me once though.

I'm working from home today because I'm sick. I have no idea what's wrong. I felt fine this morning. Got in the car and within 5 minutes felt like I was going to puke. I tried pulling over to the side of the road for a few minutes to see if it would pass but I ended up having to turn around and call in sick to work. I really hope this is just a 24 bug because I don't want to be sick on my birthday or the 4th :(

  • @Severmilli12 - With the veil thing, I didn't want one either until I tried it on....it does make a difference. I took it off after the wedding itself but before the reception (all thoes well-intentioned hugs would grab at the veil too making my head snap back...no fun).  That was my happy compromise.  Just make sure you have someone you trust who knows how to remove it without damaging your hair in the process.
  • @minskat30 @bethsmiles @swazzle thanks. I feel a little better about my indecisiveness. I didn't try a veil on with my dress when I bought it because I knew FI didn't like them and I already had the headband thing in mind, but last night was the first night I tried everything on together and I didn't get a 'bridal' feeling. I felt like I was going to prom or something. So I think I'm gonna get a veil. I found an elbow length pencil edge one on Etsy I really like.

I'm hoping when FI sees me in it he will change his mind about veils.  Not that it really matters; if I want a veil, I'll wear a veil.  FI has no problem with it and told me to do what will make me feel amazing that day.

  • @severmilli12 - I only wore mine for pictures and the ceremony. I can send you pictures of mine if you're interested, I'd be happy to lend it to you if you don't want to buy one just to wear for a little bit :)

  • @Swazzle that would be amazing!! I'd really appreciate it.

  • @severmilli12 the veil choice is one where it can be your day haha. My mom was insistent on a veil so I told her I would bring my sisters but wasn't going to commit to wearing it cause I didn't think it went with my hair. The day of my mom was all "you were right. No veil is better" lol

@Blue I agree! I think I'll be able to decide if I want one once I do my hair trial, that way I can try my hair with and without a veil and see which I like better. My dress doesn't have much to it; its pretty plain as far as beading and embellishments go, so I think a veil would add a little something :)

  • @severmilli12 I think you should AW some pics of the dress... you know, for science. :-P
    Agreed!

  • @dignity100 - he howls/barks incessantly, and pees in his crate :(

@swazzle - Fritz has heartworm. The monthly treatments kill baby heartworms. Since he already had adults in his system, he had to go in and get a treatment that kills the adults. It flushes the adults into his bloodstream and if he gets to excited/his blood pressure goes up to much, the adults can act as a blood clot. It's scary!

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I love your dress! The belt around it is awesome, did you make it?

  • @cu97tiger - Ahh I understand now. That is really scary. Hugs to you guys and fingers crossed everything goes well!

  • @bethsmiles thanks! I did make it! I looked all over Etsy and bridal salons for a mint green belt but couldn't find any. I found a couple mint green chiffon flowers that matched my BM dresses perfectly, so I bought them and decided to make my own belt.

@bethsmiles well thanks :) FI told me I should make sashes and sell them lol. For the flowers and the ribbon to make that sash, I think I paid $12. Way cheaper than the $70 DB was wanting for the one I tried on with my dress.

  • @severmilli12 Ohhh purdy! I really love that dress on you, and the belt you made is great. I honestly think you could go either way with a veil. The top pics in the store look great with your hair up and a headband, but it would also look great with a veil. The background in the first pic resembles a veil actually.
