There are some awful posts lately on the DW boards that have made me want to scream. The entitlement is obscene over there. I try to avoid it because it makes me so stabby, but someone needs to share how to properly do a DW!

I just got home from donating blood, and the 62 year old lady next to me was telling me about her wedding 30 years ago when "money was tight, and my husband had inherited all of his mother's housewares, so we had a picnic reception and told people instead of gifts, to bring their favorite dish to pass." Ugh. Vintage snowflake.

I am applying for lots of jobs. Always a demoralizing experience. Especially when an application has 5 slots for jobs, and then makes you sign to certify that those are all the jobs you've had in the last 10 years, but there is no way to add more jobs (as if I'm going to go all the way back to when I was 17 anyway!!!)

The thing I hate is I have never had a job for more than a year, usually not even that. I know that looks bad but I've just moved around a ton, or had the kind of job one doesn't keep for very long, like internships. 

FI went to an Imagine Dragons concert and was all bummed there was no ticket for me but I am kinda relieved to get some alone time. Since he's a teacher we have been together 24/7 ever since school got out. I'm gonna get off my butt soon to go dig a trench in my horse's pen because it's been raining so much it looks like she lives in a damn sewer. But mostly I'll be lazy and enjoy the fact I don't have to cook dinner.

DH and I cleaned house today, and it feels so good now! We invited another couple to come over for fajitas and board games. Woohoo!

I'm going to make burritos with the marinade from this recipe (click) and make taco kit tacos for FI. I just do steak, black beans, cheese, and sour cream in the burritos.

I cleaned the floor and got old food out of the fridge today. I am pleased with myself.

We had hamburger helper. I put out new hummingbird nectar, and am going to work on organizing all the new brushes I picked up today and working on panels. 

.....and cleaning.

....But I have wine.

I found BBQ from a couple weeks ago that I couldn't even look at because it was so horrifying, and when I dumped it into the trash I yelled "SCIENCE!" like the old guy from 'She Blinded Me With Science'. FI was supposed to take it for lunch, but he put his sodas in front of it and forgot it was there. I felt great about looking at expiration dates on everything and tossing it if I didn't have a plan to use it before it went really bad between now and then.

I wish some things came in smaller containers. I'd be able to finish using everything before it went to waste.

FI and I went out to register today at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target. Can't add anything tonight from home to the Target registry (there were a few things not in our store, but it's not the biggest) because it hasn't populated yet. Irritating.

I'm still rolling on the ground over Vintage Snowflake and it's a day later. So many people have told me to do a potluck. WHAT! WHAT!

Our first shower was yesterday!!! My sisters did such an amazing job with everything. It was at this adorable little tea shop, so we had like 6 different teas to choose from, mini sandwiches and pastries, scones with preserves and marmalade and whatnot, and the yummiest macarons EVER. For favors, my mom potted little lavender plants in vintage tea cups, and someone (my sister? my step-dad? I need to find out) made soy candles in little jars. Adorbs. Rented a dress from RTR that everyone complimented, and no duplicate gifts! And nobody said anything about the BM wearing white, lol. (Giant "told ya so" there.)

It's been such a whirlwind...we got back from our honeymoon early, early Saturday morning (flew in to the airport near DH's hometown, where the wedding was), did the whole baggage claim/parking shuttle thing, drove 3 1/2 hours to my parents' house, slept for 4 hours, drove the 8 hours to our place, unloaded the trailer of all his stuff and our new bedroom furniture (with both sets of our parents here...this place is NOT made for 6 people walking around!). Then yesterday we had his installation service and welcome dinner at our new church. DH started working today, and I'm doing laundry and attempting to bring some sort of organization to this apartment, while also enjoying my first day at home in my pj's this whole summer! And lamenting that I have to go back to school for faculty meetings already in two weeks...

Etsying like crazy.  Just re-named and completely revamped my shop, because I started making new jewelry that really inspired me to create a brand rather than just have a few items. They're zen doodle necklaces, I mold them out of clay then kinda just doodle- I draw whatever comes to me and whatever I think looks pretty, rather than having a planned out design, so even I don't know what they'll look like until I finish them.  I have a TON of fun making them, and I think that shows through in the final product.

So I've been crafting and fussing over the titles and tags etc. and trying to post links on any site that will allow it (So definitely not here, lol) I found Stumbleupon is great for views.  I also designed and ordered some awesome double-sided business cards- the backs have pictures of my products, so people will be reminded of what's in my shop without even having to go online. 

Although I'm really hoping to stock up for Gathering of the Vibes, I think my jewelry will sell really well there.
