Re: Oh heyyyy OLW

  • Dear DH,

I love you a lot.  And it felt really nice to come home yesterday and make you a tasty meal, and eat at the table like grown folks.  You're the best, and I'm so lucky you're mine.

    Love,
    Wifey

P.S.  I have these lyrics stuck in my head, and they make me think of you.  "All that I'm after is a life full of laughter, as long as I'm laughin' with you."  Maybe I should listen to a little less Daughtry on Pandora?

    ---

    Dear @swazzle,

Happy Birthday, Lady!  I hope you celebrate with NOM-worthy food, lots of wine, and oral sex.  Because come on, that's about as good as cake.  Also, you should get a cake...maybe Carvel with crunchies?

    Love,
    Shoes
    ---

    Dear Self,

I'm proud of you for staying on the wagon.  And I'm proud of you for whipping up a shepherd's pie out of nowhere last night.  You're not normally a creative cook.  Go you!

    Love,
Self who is beginning to love cooking
    ---

    Dear @minskat30,

I love reading your posts to/about your DH.  You love each other so much.  It's SO sweet.

    Love,
    Shoes

Dear Car, Please let there be nothing wrong with you. I think it will be just awesome if all I have to do is get my oil change Hoping for the best, your owner Work #1, I'm so excited for our new workshop and new MUSEUM! The new museum is going to be so pretty and awesome. I can't wait to manage it. Sure the workshop is smaller but I'll make it work somehow. Maybe we should get rid of some of this stuff like the sling shots? I don't think they need to be added to the geological timescale. Mk thanks! Your eager micbeaver employee Dear Work#2, Sorry I can't be in work for today! My car is being dumb and I love working for you guys! I will complete my fish henry someday. Also pretty happy that I don't have to glue samples for a little while. Pretty sure I was going to set those glues on fire if they got on my hands one more time. Also excel spreadsheet could you actually work? That would make my database experiences so much easier. Frazzled employee Dear Work#3, I think you are really cool and I love the museum itself. But I haven't really clicked with any of my coworkers. Plus no one in the upper levels has introduced themselves to me that much. I know you have a lot of volunteers, but I don't think I'll use for a reference for grad school. Barely content employee Dear V, You are amazing and I'm so happy that you are my boyfriend. I can't believe it's already almost a year. Thanks for always being supportive and affectionate. You definetly win the best guy ever award. I promise I'll try harder to learn how to cook so you won't have too all the time. Your loving girlfriend Dear Self, Good job for working out and eating more healthy. Sure you mess up and snack on unhealthy things but you are only human. You have lost 4 pounds and I'm proud of you. Keep up the good work! Love self ETA DAMN YOU KNOT! I had paragraphs!

  • Dear H,

We are ridiculous, but I love you.

    Dear sister,

I'm so glad I have you to discuss our most ridiculous medical issues.  There are seriously no boundaries there, and it's good for both of us.

-We talk about poop SO much

    Dear house,

    You are almost mine!

-So excited I can't even describe it

    Dear All-star game announcers,

If anyone was playing a drinking game where they drank every time you said Jeter last night, they would be dead.  I get it, he's awesome, but there were something like 69 other all-stars last night too.

-I don't even like bandwagoning when it's for my own team

    Dear A,

How is it you NEVER DIE?!

    -PLL is insane.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

  • I have another one:
Dear Friends with a Sick Kid,
Maybe I'm heartless or will be a terrible parent one day, but I can't help but roll my eyes at your decision to take your 3-year-old daughter to the ER when she couldn't keep anything down for 24 hours. A stomach bug isn't that big of a deal, and I think you're being a little over dramatic. Kids get sick. A trip to the ER is crazy expensive, and hooking your kid up to an IV for a stomach bug is really excessive. Now you're posting pics of her with the IV on FB and talking about how it felt like your world was ending, and I mean... it was a stomach bug. Seriously. I know you're hurting for your kid and all, but slow your roll.
    Sorry not sorry,
    Me

Oh, there were actually BoSox there to boo? We suck so hard this year, I just assumed not. Well, I mean, I know Farrell was managing the AL team, and I know at least one Sox player had to be there because of da rules, but we really are quite awful this year.

    Lester & Koji!

Don't worry, they're bringing up a lot of the good young guys from the minors. You're going to be seeing the future of the Sox for the rest of the season.

You are seriously the sweetest.  Thank you for driving all over Indy looking for an anchor or octopus wall decor. Sucks we didn't find any we liked :\  You're the best and I would give anything to be able to kiss you right now :(  Even with my numb lips. I love you more than I can put into words.

    Love,
    Your FI

@GoldenPenguin Blue Ahhh KOJI I love Koji.

I actually got to see Mookie Betts play down in Pawtucket about a month and a half ago. I'm really excited to see how he does in the majors.

@TwoDimes I was being a bit sarcastic; my rent is pretty high, considering the size and quality of our apartment. We're paying a lot for location; if we lived an extra 5-10 minute walk from the T stop, our rent would likely be a lot less. This fall, $1650 for 1.5BR 1BA, H/HW included, 690 sqft.

  • @Kelani23 and @GoldenPenguin, travel nursing was just on my mind this week as I was thinking about this! It seems like an awesome idea; I just dunno if I'm ready to take THAT plunge. I am not the most extraverted person, so I can see myself getting very lonely and isolated if I had to pick up and move every few months - I can't imagine making enough connections in such a short period that I wouldn't feel that loneliness. Still, after my first year or so on the job when I get sick of people, definitely something to think about. ;)

@Phira, ahhhhhh, Boston! Actually BC has this incredible Masters program for the specialty I want to go into, so I have considered moving there. The price tag is a little steep for right now, but after I've worked for a few years and get my BSN it's a definite possibility.

@TwoDimes Yeah, Boston isn't the worst (NYC and SF especially have higher rent), but the situation isn't improving. It's one of the problems that comes with having such a high student population. We're hoping to move as soon as I'm done with my degree; we'd rather live somewhere less expensive and get a car.

@GoldenPenguin My baseball friends are obsessed with him and my less-fannish friends are obsessed with his bootay. I enjoy both the booty and the talent.

@CLoGreenEyes I live close to BC! There are some much more affordable areas near campus. Like I said, my cost of living wouldn't be so bad if I lived a little bit farther from public transit. As it is now, I'm a 2-3 minute walk from the train and a bus line.

That's, like, the classiest way that could have possibly gone down. I'm a little disappointed by the kinds of rumors I've heard over the years every time there's a new, attractive Sox correspondent. Back when Hazel Mae was still reporting for the Sox, I heard a rumor she was sleeping with Tito.

I don't think you can even rent a room in an apartment for that little around here!

    I need to move.

Wow! I wish! Our current 2/2 is $1250 per month, but the market rate on it sky rocketed over the past year to $1450 per month. We're moving to a 1/1.5 for $1350 per month. We live in the 'burbs too.
