Anyway, welcome to Friday! I'm jazzed as hell that this week is over because it has generally been dumb as shit. FI is exhausted, plus we have a ton of shit to do before we go to Maine on Monday. What are you guys dealing with/doing today/this weekend? Anything cool?

My husband was supposed to come home next week but decided to surprise me and come home this past Tuesday. We've been doing a lot of running around since then and went out last night to see a friend's band play, so I'm hoping the weekend is just time to chill b/c I'm pretty worn out.

We're leaving Saturday morning and will be back Tuesday night. Wine tasting and fun in upstate NY!

Today I'm taking the kids to a trampoline arena so they can let out some of their energy. Tomorrow they have a birthday party at Dave and Busters and that night I'm going out with a girlfriend. Sunday we will probably see Planes and Fire or whatever that movie is called. My life is very kid oriented right now. Summer and all.

I have a busy, busy weekend ahead of me. Tonight we're going to a baseball game, which would be great except I have way too much to do and would prefer to just stay home and catch up. 

Tomorrow I meet with a potential florist, which I'm dreading because $$$. Afterwards, though, I'm heading deep into the woods to go creeking & could not be more exciting! Hopefully my dog & I will not find ourselves covered in ticks, poison ivy, or anything else creepy/crawly/itchy/annoying/gross.

My second shower is tomorrow! BM/FSIL is flying in from NY tonight and staying with us, so I have a crazy cleaning session awaiting me at home (spare bedroom functions as my closet aka dumping ground for laundry, so it's a disaster). We only found out she was staying with us last night. WOMP WOMP. I'm excited but kinda nervous for tomorrow... FI's family is HUGE and they're all super close with each other but not so much with FI's own nuclear unit... they seem to like me though so hopefully I can make some more inroads tomorrow. Scary cuz I'll be on my own - FI's all-day bachelor extravaganza is tomorrow too.

Then after the shower, I have to - DUN DUN DUN - help my mom find a MOB dress. Lord give me strength. And someone give me an amaretto slurpee. 

PS what the FICKITY FUCK with TK, because no, not all the quote boxes are working yet. BLAH.

I get to drive to my apartment two hours away, pack up ALL my stuff, clean out my car, shove all my stuff into my now-clean car, put some of FI's stuff ON TOP of my stuff, drive two more hours to bring it all home, and then unload it. If it weren't for the fact that I'll get to see FI some too, I believe I'd just say screw it and go to bed at 4 when I got off.

My parents, my sister and I went bedroom shopping Wednesday, and we bought three bedroom suites: one for my/FI's room, one for my sister, and one for my dad, so I think THEY'RE going to go mattress shopping so we have mattresses to go in the beds. YAY for no more air mattresses! I'm hoping to attempt to replace the one decent pair of jeans I had, too, since I've been wearing the same worn-out pair of skinny jeans on Fridays since the first week of April, and I'm just about ready to go back in time and throw them in the fire too.

Formatting issues seem to be fixed though! I thought it was just my wifi being stupid.

This weekend is mostly going to look like my siggy for me.  :-/

Fi and I have some cleaning to do around the house and we need to move some things into our tiny storage unit downstairs.  On Sunday Fi is going to his cousin's house to have him look at something with our car, and spend some time with his godson (cousin's kid).  I think this is also partially motivated by his desire to get out of my hair, because bar studying has made me a raging bitch lately.

About two weeks and then it will be OVER.

Continuing to unpack and organize DH's stuff, and hopefully plenty of relaxing. It's been a crazy week for him, with something going on with church every night. He preaches on Sunday for the first time here, and then the senior pastor leaves to go on vacation for two weeks (so things will not slow down for him at all...).

Tonight we are SUPPOSED to be going to a cookout at another couple's house. 

I say supposed to because FI is currently immobile. Wednesday night he got stung/bit by something in the yard. He is severely allergic to yellow jackets and will go into anaphylactic shock. He started to go to the emergency room (even after using the Epi-pen they ask him to come in so they can monitor him because the epinephrine has worn off before) but he realized he didn't feel like he normally does with a yellow jacket sting so he decided not to go. Well yesterday morning he woke up and his foot and ankle were so swollen he couldn't even get his foot into his Crocs (he only wears these around the house and watering greens at work on the golf course I swear). He goes to work and by the time he gets home he can't even walk on it. His parent come by to bring him some ice and help take the dogs out and start looking at it and they decide to go to Urgent Care at UNC. The doctors aren't sure what stung or bit him. I think it was a wasp, they say it could have been a snake. 

Anyways, he isn't allowed to work until Monday and if his foot isn't better then we will just watch movies this weekend. 

Saturday, I'm going to see my mom's new apartment that she is moving into on Sunday. I'm so happy for her because this will be the first time she has a place of her own since leaving my dad. After she left she lived with her brother and his wife for a while and then moved in with her BF. Her and her BF still date but she wants her own place.

Also while I'm there, I'm going to look at her friend's house that is throwing me a shower in September!

Sunday, FI and I are going to the lake with my MOH and her BF. I'm so ready to get on a boat and do some wake boarding, tubing, skiing, etc...it's  been too long!!

@emmaaa that sounds terrible!  Did Fi go to the doctor to find out what it was?

My Fi got bit by something (we think a hornet) while mowing his brother's yard Wednesday night.  He actually stayed home from work because he couldn't walk on it-- he was such a baby about it.  He's not actually allergic, just a wuss.  Although I think he also really needed a mental health day and the ankle bite was just a way to feel less guilty about taking the day off of work.

Anyway, major props to your Fi for toughing it out at work.  Hopefully whatever it is, the bite gets better soon.

Oh wait!  I forgot the only fun and exciting part of my Friday-- I'm dog sitting today!  I love my sister's dog so much I would just steal her if I could.

So even though my entire day will pretty much consist of reviewing multiple choice questions, I get doggie cuddles while I'm doing it.

@JCBriday2015 They weren't 100% sure. We went to Urgent Care 24 hours AFTER the initial bite so it made it harder to determine. He knew it wasn't a yellow jacket because it only takes about 15 minutes before he starts to have trouble breathing and his throat gets itchy. So we just figured it was a wasp because do have a lot of those in our yard this week. But whenever he got stung he immediately panicked because he thought it was a yellow jacket and he was home alone, and he didn't see whatever it was that did bite/sting him. 

The doctor said that if it were a snake bite, it wasn't poisonous because his leg would be discolored and numb, not just swollen. She said that they would give him the same prescription for a non-poisonous snake bite as they would for the wasp. They sent us home with a steroid, Benedryl, and Advil. He was strictly told not to work until Monday though. 

The swelling was a little better when I left for work this morning and he could move his toes again. His dad is coming to hang out with him and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid (like mow the yard) when he shouldn't.

OMG OMG OMG YOU GUYS. Much happy. So excite. I just recalculated my wedding budget spreadsheet because I messed around with my direct deposit distribution, realized I was paying for chairs twice, tightened up the catering estimate now that I can make real projections based on the 50% RSVPs we've gotten back... and WE ARE IN THE BLACK by about 900 bucks instead of like 7 grand in the hole. I could do cartwheels right now... you know, if I was physically capable of doing cartwheels, and my tummy wasn't full of coffee, and I'd rather not break my legs while vomiting French vanilla all over myself. But other than that, CARTWHEELS.

FI is on call for work all weekend so we can't go anywhere or do anything. You know Murphy's Law the second we'd sit down at a restaurant he'd get a call. So we're just doing housework to prep for listing it.

We're going for hibachi tonight, and hopefully picking out a new goldfish (our third and final fishie).

And we have a funeral on Saturday. One of H's aunts passed suddenly this week.

Sunday we have no plans. Probably combination of cleaning and playing games and comic work.

This is the crazy week/weekend of birthdays in my family. Dad, brother, grandmother, and aunt all have birthdays within a week of each other. So this weekend will be celebrating with them and....I'm going to pick up my DRESS!!!! It's finally here!!!!

This week felt sooooo long. From last Friday till today, I feel like it ha been 2 weeks. I'm pretty tired, I got home yesterday from a work conference in Albany, NY. Today is my summer halfday, thiough! So I'm working till 1. I think afterwards I'll hit up the gym, then I have an appointment at 3 to check out dresses at Pronovia. Other than that, not much. I'm looking forward to a low key weekend.

FI's working tonight so FSS and I are spending the evening cleaning walls and removing wallpaper in our spare bedroom. I expect the wallpaper to be far more fun than the whining.

Tomorrow will be working on the floors of the spare bedroom. We're scared of the damage we're going to find. The evening will be my gramma's 93rd birthday dinner at my parent's house.

I'm dreading Sunday. FI played the "you'd go if you loved me" card about a concert. FI, FSS, FSIL, FSIL's bf, and I are all going to Mayhem Fest. 12 hours of heavy metal. Outside in the heat and humidity with hideously expensive food and snacks. I hate loud music, heavy metal, and day-long concerts. I have been told we'll be there until around midnight, meaning I won't be home until at least 1. And I have a 7 AM meeting an hour from home the next day then leaving for a business trip. Basically, I'm in a seriously pissy mood about this but can't get out of it.

I can't wait to go to this bar I found while looking up stuff to do in bar harbor, they have a drink called a dirty water that sounds right up my alley. Absolut wild tea, st germain, lemon, and iced tea. Though I have been fiending for a dragon berry tea from Vortex in ATL like a motherfucker.

Basically, I just want tea booze.

There are about 35 things on my to do list. I am about two weeks and now one Friday behind schedule.

My house looks like a bomb was dropped on it. Possibly a Pinterest bomb. 

There are piles of lace and fabric everywhere. 8 strings of Edison bulbs hanging across the living room, being tested. Bird cages that may or may not be used. A couple of giant 6 foot candle stands waiting to be painted. Will the Principessa decide on milk glass, or antique bottles? Both have come up from the basement (aka the Room of Requirement) so, piles of dusty boxes to be gone through. Half finished lace lanterns from hell, which means lots of half globes of lace doilies waiting to be joined together, eight giant plastic balls used for forms, now rolling around shedding dried glue, and paper mâché glue sprinkled and dribbled across the kitchen. Where the dishes are not done. Cat sleeping on bar sign.

Banners to be finished. 4 chairs to be reupholstered. Other cat on antique chair.  Bench to be repaired. Add to this the usual three unrelated-to-wedding pieces of furniture ready to be listed and sold (oh...work. For money. I still need to do that.)  and you have a frikking mess unseen since the wreck of the Hesperus.

 

3 magnificent hot glue burns on hands, bandaged toe from slamming into antique trunk, lump on head from knocking over giant candle stand. 

My emotional support is presently a seventeen year old boy, who can't hear because he is wired into a dungeons and dragons tournament, and communicating through mumbling noises. Like this:

Me: Moosey, I need you to move the park bench to the back porch.

Moose: Hmmmmm. Mmmmmm.mumblemumble.

Me: Today. Seriously. I have to replace the slats.

Moose. Mmmm. Hrrrrm. Busy.

Me: (slightly hysterical) I pushed your giant Sputnik sized head out of my vagina! You fucking owe me. Move. The. Park. Bench.

Moose: Jesus, Mom. Don't say vagina to me. What's wrong with you? Hey. What's for dinner?
