I hate being rushed. We often tell our server there is no rush.

Which is funny she might be observing our table and will be come upset they did her a favor by taking her order first.  When in reality it was our indirect request.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I... Um...

This is the fucking battiest shit I have EVER read. I can't even remember what the original question/discussion was. I am too busy wondering if Springs has given herself an aneurysm yet.

  • Also, did this chick seriously join here for the sole purpose of jumping on a discussion like this? She hasn't posted anything else.
  • I wanted to know why this was 10 pages long. Now I know. And now I want to drink but can't because ya know...work.
  • Also, did this chick seriously join here for the sole purpose of jumping on a discussion like this? She hasn't posted anything else.
I think so.  She must google tipping-related stuff just to find someone to argue with.
So she was never a bride!? WOW....that is really sad.

    Don't forget the following:

Note who was sitting/standing ahead of you to make sure you do not cut in line

Turn on your stopwatch feature on your phone to time:

how long it takes to take your order
how long it takes to deliver your order
how long it takes to give you a check
how long it takes to pick up your check
how long it takes to drop off change or the credit card slip

All the while keeping a    *************** CLOSE ***************** eye on the whole operation so you know who to blame when something is delayed (apparently everything has a precise time frame).  And of course so you are not a ************ STUPID MORON ******** and tip too much for when the **************LAZY AND UNCARING **************** server makes the inevitable mistake.

Hell as long as I got food, a drink, and place to park my ass I'm a happy camper. I get giddy when a server offers me a to-go drink cup. Hell yeah! Cold drink for the car!

Yup. She joins multiple sites and forums just to discuss bad service, no matter what the site is.

I *EXPECT* that and if I am not offered it, then I *ASK* for it if I want it.  The non-lazy servers offer more work. The lazy ones don't offer you a to-go drink.

In 2002 I was a bride.  I am still married to this day to the same person.

I hate being rushed myself such as servers bringing you the check when aren't ready for it. I CAN'T STAND THAT SHIT! Even if they predict correctly, what bothers me about it the most is *CONTROL* that they are trying to control our tip money even though *We* are paying the tip, NOT THEM.

I also hate when servers greet you in 30 seconds or less like let me look at the damn menu for a minute and a half at least.  At times, we have had to say we needed more time to look at the drink menu. Seriously, I'd rather not be greeted quite that quickly. Around a minute and a half to 2 minutes at the most would be a good amount for me personally in most cases.

"She has never been a server in a sit down restaurant so she doesn't know. "

Yes I do know from just being a customer. Once, I saw a couple that was next to us that was just drinking some wine.  Our waitress asked them if they were ready to order TWICE and STILL not ready, they weren't even reading the menu even, just talking.  You don't know WTH you are talking about. At times *WE* have only gotten "JUST DRINKS" LOTS AND LOTS OF TIMES.  What I mean by drinks, bar drinks, not just soft drinks or iced tea.

Why would I not know? I didn't say everyone felt like me, but most people DO, because that's why they go to a restaurant, they are HUNGRY and THIRSTY.  Some people are in a hurry like they have to get back to work or go to a movie or something.  I would say majority doesn't want to wait ONE MORE SECOND if they don't have to for anything.

Even when we just got just drinks, I sure didn't want to wait 10 minutes for a coke(I would order a soft drink instead of water with the bar drink because I drink enough water during the other days of the week, so I tend to drink soft drinks or iced tea if I am at a restaurant. I also didn't want to wait 20 minutes for my bar drink either due to a server not putting in the order as quickly as they could of in a fair manner.

This just went from mildly entertaining/batshit to really fucking obnoxious. Go find some other internet forum to be hostile about servers on.

St Thomas did, so did New Orleans.  Actually in NOLA some bars have cups by the door for you. Alcohol on streets is okay.  Glass is not.

Literally first time I have ever heard of this. At least it is normal practice in some areas! As opposed to just outrageous requests!

On another site forum, springs mentioned how she enjoys going to chain restaurants because if you complain, you get free food.

What's funny is that I read one of her early rants on another site and it starts out rational and she even makes some good points. And then, as the post continues, she starts using more and more caps and asteriks. I'd unnerving and I think she's unstable. If KP doesnt' remove her from this forum, soon, I'll be removing myself. I don't enjoy having conversations with someone when it results in them continuously calling me an idiot, especially when they are the ones being irrational and illogical.

To bring this back on topic, I do think that it comes down to not throwing stones. If everytime someone made a mistake at their job, and they were docked pay, then I could understand their rationalization for docking a server's pay. But if they wouldn't be willing to have their salary lowered, why should they be all for lowering someone else's? I'm talking, of course about honest, fixable mistakes.
Like if you went to a bookstore and didn't like the book the bookseller suggested... do you insist on a pay cut for the bookseller and a refund, all the while keeping the book?
"On another site forum, springs mentioned how she enjoys going to chain restaurants because if you complain, you get free food."

NO, I didn't say I go to chain restaurants to get free food for complaining. That's not what I said and you know it.  If something has been said about that, you do realize people have posted as me even though it's not me such as they have a myspace page out there with some fat chick in the picture, but it's not me. Is that the one you are talking about?  That's NOT MY WORK YOU STUPID IDIOT!

Even a person on this forum knows it's a joke, why not you????

    http://theunoriginaldistroublemakersclub.yuku.com/topic/26545/Springs-is-back?page=37#.U-fqTmPd67E

Just because my springs1 is on it doesn't mean it's me. You can create an account named Springs1 and write something. Does that mean *I* wrote it? NO, it doesn't, does it?

" If everytime someone made a mistake at their job, and they were docked pay, then I could understand their rationalization for docking a server's pay."

The reason to dock them in most cases is them acting rude and inhumane.  You forget my ranch, but say you are sorry and fix it right away is SOOOOOO, SOOOOO DIFFERENT than going to another table that didn't call you over ignoring my issue and not apologizing. You know that's the truth. HOW did they HANDLE the issue? Were they being an uncaring bitch or a decent, caring human being?

I also noticed you couldn't prove me wrong about the fact that it's the server's job to check over the food BEFORE delivering it I see. Did you not read my PROOF that you are wrong?

Someone needs to be airlifted to the mountains between Iraq and Syria to learn just what inhumanity is.  She's making a mockery of the term.

WHY? I have asked before as well as a NUMBER OF TIMES SERVERS HAVE *****OFFERED*********** TO-GO REFILLS.  Why would you think you could not get a refill to-go?

I think it's asinine to not get the most for your money. We have been given extra bread to-go from Outback for example when we dined inside, OFFERED, NOT asked for it.

I always get extra bread to-go with my leftovers. It's free, WHY not take advantage of everything the restaurant is WILLING to give to you for free of charge, huh? It's called being a SMART SHOPPER.
  • What sit down places offer To-go cups. I've never been to a restaurant that offered them. What state are you in.
Louisiana.  We just got offered to-go refills from Walk-on's in Baton Rouge.  Ruby Tuesday a number of years ago in Slidell, LA we were OFFERED refills to-go.  We left the waitress $2 extra dollars just for doing the extra work that MOST servers AREN'T WILLING TO DO.

Why would you think you couldn't get your drink to-go? I mean if it's alcohol, some places don't let you even in Louisiana, but  for soft drinks or iced tea, WHY would they have an issue with that, huh?

Yeah. These are not the actions of a stable individual.

She reminds me of one of our repeat offender customers. Every time she comes in she pitches a fit about something. She's been banned from the mall for harassing employees at other stores. She sends letters to corporate phising for free gift cards and trying to get people fired. A few months ago she physically pushed another customer. Security watches her when she enters the building. Other customers complain about her. She is never happy. It must suck to be her. I almost feel sorry for her, except she walked up to me while I had my cellphone in my hand, started yelling about what a bad coworker I was, demanded I call store management, and proceeded for the next few weeks to talk to my other coworkers about how she's surprised I still have a job and she was going to make sure I lost it. When she dies, people will go to her funeral to make sure she's dead.
