XP: Which favor would you prefer?

1. Leaf shaped cookie cutter
2. Leaf shaped bottle opener
3. Apple cider donut. My concern with this one is that I'd have to buy them at least the day before but not before 2 days in advance so they're not stale and I'm concerned about how much time I'll have for this in the days prior to the wedding.

I'd probably leave the cookie cutter on the table. I may use the bottle opener but I would definitely eat the donut. So I vote for the edible favor.

Food. Always food. I get hungry waiting for dinner, and rarely take other favours. I try to limit the amount of "stuff" coming into the house

I usually err on the side of food for favors, they seem to be generally the most liked. Donuts might cause too much inconvience for you, though.

Would the cookie cutters be varying shapes, or all the same? I think if you go that route you should do a variety, so if someone leaves one behind at least someone else can swipe it up and hypothetically get different shaped leaves. People who like them will appreciate it; people who don't won't care.

Otherwise I'd go edible. FI doesn't drink so we'd be leaving at least one bottle opener behind anyway.

I would prefer the donut if I could eat it (I am a Celiac so no gluten for me).

I would suggest against edible favors unless they've got some shelf life.  I'm always beyond bursting after a wedding, and a donut would be a waste on me.  Particularly because I've just eaten cake.

Maybe have a mix of cookie cutters and bottle openers?  Hopefully no one will have a huge whinge about not getting their first choice.

Why would anyone need a cookie cutter. I just pick it up and take a bite. Sort of like the same way I'd eat a yummy donut.

Cookie cutters are also great if you have kids. They have all sorts of craft based applications. I don't know how many parents will be there, but that could be a consideration. I am the type of person to take a cookie cutter, but I actually have a whole set of leaf-shaped cookie cutters already.  Oops.  Same thing with bottle openers, we already have them.

Donut! If it ends up being stale, at least I can compost it. The cookie cutter or bottle opener would be left on the table. Or in the trash eventually.

Donut; food is always appreciated. Bottle opener would be 2nd choice. Cookie cutter would be unused for most people, and for those who don't bake, pretty much useless.

I think it's not a choice, but since you're going with the maple theme, could you do a small bottle of maple syrup? Edible and you can do it in advance?

If not, I would go with the donut.

Could you do a leaf shaped sugar cookie? That way you have a little more wiggle room in terms of shelf life but still edible so more likely to be taken. If that isn't an option, I would go with the donut!

Donut. I always love edible favors. The other favors I've received, I can't say I've ever used.

My vote goes for the donut! I don't think they go bad that quickly, and donuts are great hangover food (in my experience) for next morning's breakfast.

Definitely donut - edible is always the way to go.   If it's not edible, chances are (if I take it home) it ends up in a drawyer until spring cleaning and is then thrown out.

Eh, if this is a fresh cider mill donut, they really do go bad that quickly. I would be more disappointed to get my hopes up for a cider donut (one of the best things on this planet) and find out it was stale, than to get an only moderately useful favor.

Very true. I've never figured out how quickly donuts go stale because they're always scarfed down as quickly as I can get to them. And now I'm really wanting to try one of these cider donuts!
