Product loyalty

I just found myself stalking a pair of shoes all over the internet.  I bought them in navy last year for my summer law firm job, and they were the most comfortable work heels I've ever owned.  I told myself I'd buy them in black and nude when I started for real.  Well, the time is here, and I was just browsing online only to discover they are discontinued.  Horror of horrors.  Not even eBay has them.  I found them on a UK website and am strongly considering paying international shipping for these damn shoes.  I don't even want to link them because they are absurdly expensive and you guys will side-eye me.

But they are just.so.comfortable.

What product (shoes, food, makeup, whatever) are you insanely loyal to?

  • I will only use Nourish Organics face lotion. No other will do. Period.

  • Urban Decay and Napoleon Perdis makeup, Murad moisturizer and Bumble & Bumble hair products. When FI and I go to Ulta I make him wait outside while I check out because he would be appalled by how much it costs.

@jcbride2015 I feel that way about a v-neck shirt I bought at Marshall's. It wasn't expensive but it was the most amazingly comfortable and flattering thing I have ever worn, and I can't find another one ANYWHERE.

  • Lancome perfume. The actual perfume varies occasionally, especially as some get discontinued, etc. But there's usually at least one or two at a time that I love. I also usually have a "day time" scent and a "night time" scent. Just a spritz and I feel classier and/or sexier than before. Something about nice perfume...

I'm also really loyal about face products.  But I have really severe eczema so I tell myself anything that stops me from looking like a monster is a winner in my book.

@CMGragain a lot of those actually look really cute!  Comfort is key.  I have some shoes that look a lot like that, too.  As a teacher you've gotta be able to stand up all day.

Aren't you about to be a fancy lawyer at some big city firm?  I think you're supposed to spend absurd amounts of money on shoes.  :)
Yeah @mysticl that's basically what I wanna do, just buy every color and live in the same shoes always.  Indeed, the cost of both pairs of shoes is equal to roughly... oh gosh... only a day's salary.  I can't wrap my mind around that yet.  It is still a lot of money for me.  But COMFORT dammit!

Paul Mitchell super skinny shampoo. American Eagle jeans. Peter Pan peanut butter. Those are the three that I can immediately think of off the top of my head.

ETA - The Limited for dress pants. Good price, they hold up well, and the Drew cut fit me perfectly.

  • Cole Haan shoes, J Crew/Banana Republic for clothes, Modalu for purses, Chanel for make up, Elizabeth Arden Prevage for skincare. Food- My Nana's tortillas and chips (local company), Diet Coke (my savior!!!), Kraft cheese products (cheez whiz, mac and cheese, shredded cheese). I'm sure there is more!

I thought you had a Nana who actually makes her own tortillas and chips!  Ha!

And Cole Haan is another great shoe company.  Very comfortable.

  • Okay, this is going to sound really absurd next to everyone else's answers, but Always Infinity products.  And this is equally odd to say (especially after what I JUST said), but Durex Sensi-Thin condoms.  Just keepin' it real, yo.

On a less weird note: Cetaphil face wash, Oyster Bay white wine, and Nestle Drumsticks.  Almost all my mascaras are Maybelline.  I HAVE to have Philadelphia cream cheese for my bagels.

I have had your shoe dilemma.  I have a pair of wedges that are dying right now and I am in a mild panic about replacing them, because they don't make them anymore.  Sad-land.

  • If the shoes are THAT comfortable you can of course spend tons of money and no one will side-eye you. Quality is always worth it! Asics running shoes, and lately White House Black Market for clothes. So much day-to-night and they seriously have the best pair of dress slacks I've ever owned. Comfortable, flattering, and winkle-free.

Also: I SWEAR by my Paul Mitchell straightener. I'm on my third one since January 2008, but I firmly believe that if I hadn't had cats and house fires, I wouldn't have needed the second and third ones, haha.

And Reese's. No other peanut-butter-chocolate-cup compares.

PFT. I wish! I'd be a total slave driver, though, because I eat chips and tortillas all day.

I can rationalize just about anything.  How did the original pair hold up?  Basically, what will your price per a wearing be?  Also, how much standing a walking will you be doing?  If you are behind a desk most of the time and slip your shoes off, not as big of a deal.  But if you have to be on your feet a lot they are more worthwhile.

I'd rather pay more for shoes that will last forever and not cause me pain than buy cheap ones that hurt and fall apart in a few months.

  • Clinique face products! I love them so much, I've been using them for years and I barely have any breakouts. Also my folger  coffee and my double mocha cappuccino mix. Those combine are the best thing ever. Other than that I can't really think of anything I'm "loyal" too.

Artist cut are the best. I'm also digging their super skinnies for the past year. Slightly ashamed to be almost 30 and wearing jeggings but damn those things are comfy. And make my butt look good. This Paul Mitchell straightener you speak of...I'm interested. I need a new one and I know I need to invest in a good one since I use it almost every day.

Oh yeah, I can rationalize these.  Our office covers five floors in a high-rise and I'm up and down the stairs all day.  I do sit at my desk for periods of time of course, but generally I'll be going to other people's offices kind of a lot.  Also they are comfortable enough to sometimes commute in, which is a big plus.

I did end up finding the black on eBay and it looks legit.  I put in an offer so we'll see if I can at least save some money on the one pair.

Plus, you have to start out looking the part.  Can'l look like you're still in law school on the first day.  :)

  • I have zero negotiation for- snuggle dryer sheets, Nine West heels (have 9 pairs), Land O' Lakes white american cheese sliced extra thick (grocery store brand or Kraft singles are revolting).

Buy the shoes JC, you earned it!

I LOVE THEM. OMG. I had the ProTools 1.25" the first two go arounds, and they were awesome - heated up quick, got my hair straighter than ever before. Now I've got the NeuroSmooth 1.25" and it is EVEN BETTER. It hits temp (at 450) in 30 seconds, stays consistently at temp until you shut it off, and is generally and genuinely the best straightener I've ever used. The only thing is that my ProTools were about $150 each. The Neuro is a little more expensive (not sure how much so, but I can find out), but I fully expect it to last forever.

I swear I'm not a Paul Mitchell vendor, haha. I just love those straighteners.

  • @CaitTDid23 See, I'm getting to the point where I'm willing to spend the money if it's going to last a long time. I use my straightener SO much and it'd be worth it to have a really nice one. I love Paul Mitchell hair products so maybe I'll have check the straightener out too.
  • Coke Zero.  DH got me to switch from regular to Coke Zero a while ago, and now it's the only pop I drink.  When we were in Russia, we couldn't find it anywhere, and had to settle for Diet.  Just not as good.  When we hit Iceland for our layover, we went a little crazy for 10am.

I'm also with @goldchocobo.  We've tried other brands, but we're a Durex house now.

Are you my twin?  All of these things!!!

Also, Heinz ketchup.  I was in trouble for even suggesting another brand.  This is a Heinz house.

Yes! Heinz ketchup. I don't understand why people even consider other ketchups.

Also I'm a camera snob and if it isn't Canon I won't consider buying it.
