First world problems

Or as my friends call this, PONY PROBLEMS

image

I'm trying to book some spa services for us for the day after the wedding. And there are seriously at least 6 massages that I want to get, along with 3 facials. Their spa menu is MASSIVE and I have no idea how I will choose.

Please share your first world problems today.

Re: First world problems

  • I couldn't get my dental appointment today until 1, so that means I have to just dick around all morning before I can get on with my day. I hate afternoon appointments. I have a pair of pants I need to return, man!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Can't get the pool water chemistry right. We have a salt water pool with an ozonatator that won't start working to sanitize the pool until the chemistry is right. It's very frustrating until I realize how lucky I am.
  • Get whatever massage service involves chocolate.

I'm trying to eat SUPER well to get myself back on track so I fit into this damn dress, but there's a happy hour at work today with free beer and pizza. Damn my luck.

  • They opened up buying ski passes on Monday. If you buy before Sept 12 it's considerably cheaper. We can get ours through the club, which makes them even cheaper. The first world problem is deciding to buy the unlimited pass for $1229 or the twice a week pass for $1029. Damn skiing is going to cost me a fortune. At least DH's is covered by the club, so that helps. I still need to buy skis. Luckily we have a connection to get them at cost. so those will not be too bad.

Skiing is so freaking expensive! I just started last year. I don't have skiis yet either - just boots.
  • I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty damn upset if someone stole my pony and I wouldn't feel bad about it.

Apparently my doctor's lab screwed up one of my tests so I have to fast tonight/tomorrow morning again to go pee in a cup in the morning.

I honestly would be devastated. My friends and I just poked a little fun at the situation though.
  • My doctor said she wants me to lose weight because I'll continue to stay sick and things will get worst. But she tried to make me feel bad by saying "you won't fit your wedding dress if you don't lose a little more weight" so right now I'm eating celery and peanut butter but I want a big mac or some chipotle. Oh and did my financial aid wrong so now I have to do it all over two weeks before school starts.

  • I'm fussing over my no-chip manicure. I got it last weekend and it was the worst work I've ever seen. I would have had her redo them if the mani/pedi hadn't already taken 2 hours. Damn Groupons. We're working on our spare bedroom on Saturday (FI's friend, a contractor, agreed to help us for the day) so I'm worrying that they'll be too screwed up by Sunday.

My shower is on Sunday. FI, my mom, and my friend are all stressing me with logistics conversations. My dad, FI, uncle (husband of aunt throwing the shower, OOT), and possibly my BIL and niece are going for liver and onions (ugh) while the ladies go to the shower. The restaurant is inconveniently located for pretty much everyone, a few people don't drive, and parking in the area stinks. We're also taking my gramma who has a walker that requires lots of trunk space. Not sure how we're pulling this off without making someone unhappy.

  • I'm a huge planner and we're planning our honeymoon to FL in February. Well, the Blackhawks play the Lightening in Tampa in February. So we picked the week that the Hawks are there. Lightening tickets aren't on sale yet so I can't buy them yet. I'm going to stalk the shit out of ticketmaster until they do.

Also, I'm such a good employee that I didn't even ask to take a half day off work today to go to the Bears preseason game. For free. And now I'm pissed at myself.

  • I wanted to hit the gym today after work but I'm wearing Spanx and forgot to pack an extra pair of underwear. Boo hoo.

  • I have a slight cold and trying to kill it with chicken soup and Vit C.I really want bananas but I'm too lazy to leave my house for two minutes to go the supermarket that's literally one block away from me. Also my vanilla body spray is almost dead and I don't know what to do arrrrg.

No shit.     Granted the passes are for Aspen and 3 other mountains, but still.    I'm not even a big skier, but they are so close (20 mins away).   There is a bus stop close that I could just ride up to the mountains easily without having to worry about parking.    I get most afternoons off and every weekend.  Seems silly not to take advantage of where I live.

  • I recieved a bill from the stupid dentist. It took me almost a month to schedule an appointment because of my insurance and the dentist people. I "had" to get x-rays, ect since I was a new patient. And apparently even with my insurance it didn't cover all of it. Damn you kool smiles.

I got a free bride and MOB massage as part of my venue package, BUT I have to drive allllll the way to the location that's only the second closest to me. UGH. It's one of those chain spa places.

My cousin had a tetanus shot at the start of the year because a huge coconut fell on her foot and it was bleeding. Her arm did hurt for a while after and she got fever etc due to her body's reaction the the alien substance in her body :(

  • It's fine, TK. Not like I wanted paragraphs or anything.
  • I overslept and now I am very hungry, so now I am stuck trying to decide if I should eat breakfast and skip lunch, or if I should skip breakfast and go straight to lunch.

Also, my hair stylist hasn't called me back about getting a haircut.

  • We are getting bedroom furniture tomorrow afternoon! However, we don't know where we want to put it yet in our room. So I made 4 1/20th scale bedrooms and 4 sets of 1/20th scale bedroom furniture* and I'm going to play with them and see if I can't come up with a couple of options. Our bedroom is 6 inches shy of being a perfect square. I wish they'd given me those extra six inches... That would have made life soooo much easier.....

*Yeah. This is actually how I've arranged every bedroom since I went to college. I might be a little psycho...

Same here! I make a room layout on graph paper and then cut out tiny graph paper furniture.

This is not a problem I've really had to encounter.     Most rooms I've had have one obvious spot for our bed.

We did look at a place yesterday that the bed could fit in 2 places, but as soon as I walked in I went to one spot that it would be the best place based on window, bathroom and TV placement.
