My shower is next weekend - a champagne and cupcake party at MOH's in the afternoon, dinner out after.
I've been looking through my closet in the last couple of days, and all my cute stuff is black. I do have two red dresses that I practically live in, but they're not really dinner-ready. I have two cocktail dress (deep pink, and teal), but I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing either at 1pm, even if we are going to dinner after.
Thing is I have a super-cute LBD that's just the perfect level of smart-casual for daytime (I've rocked it to work many a time) but totally snazzy enough for going out to dinner (especially if I switch from cardigan to blazer), and also the perfect heels (black with coral polka dots). And black lace flats to put in my bag in case I want to change shoes at any point.
I know a lot of people go for a more bridal look for their shower but I'm not committing a major faux pas wearing black, am I? I have to really think this out because my shower's in the city, so I have to make sure what ever I want is ready to go before we leave - no last minute changing my mind, sadly.
What did/would you wear for yours?
Re: I can wear black to my shower, right?
Wear whatever you want to wear!
I'd say that it's fine and, if not, a totally victimless crime - but you know your crowd.
I wore a white dress to mine, but it's only because I have this white dress I really love and don't wear much and it seemed like a great time to do it.
My sister in law's was a surprise. Her friend told her they were going to a craft fair then lunch and SIL seriously didn't know. I was so impressed that she was wearing jeans and had straightened hair because if my best friend told me craft fair, I'd have been wearing sweatpants and a bun for sure.
I'm not having one, but you should def wear the black.
