Timeline for waxing?

I have never had any type of waxing done, but FI just said how much he'd love it if I had a full Brazilian wax for the wedding. That is October 11. How often does this need done usually? I read another thread that said you shouldn't just go do one right before the wedding, that you should have a few before the big day. So if I were to go within this next week, then how do I space them out until October 11? How many more should I have in between? My hair grows super fast so I feel like, is it really worth the $ for waxing if my hair grows fast? How long of a time do you have complete smoothness after a wax? Are we talking days, weeks? Any guidance would be appreciated. I'd like to say I would do this to surprise him, but at the same time, it's money I definitely had not budgeted, and thus far the cheapest I've seen is $47.

Re: Timeline for waxing?

  • I saw from a previous post and also via the european wax center website because I am looking at this for myself for our honeymoon, that the european wax center your first wax is on them if you are a new customer so if you have of of them near you, check them out that could save you money on your first one since you haven't budgeted it and on the other post that talked about waxing everyone mentioned them.

  • I would go now. You're less than 8 weeks out. When I was waxing regularly, I'd usually stretch my appointments about 7 weeks apart. But for your first couple you'd want to space them about 5 weeks depending on hair growth. You'd also want your last appointment to be 4 days to a week before the wedding in case of any redness or irritation...I know for me I'm always ultra sensitive for the first day or so after a wax.

Honestly, the cost is worth it, especially if you go for a period of time on a regular basis. I've waxed regularly for about 2 years now and haven't been doing it since February. Over time my hair came back finer and thinned and even disappeared in some areas...especially around the bikini line so it made maintenance a lot easier. Even if your hair grows back quickly (mine does after shaving) waxing is totally worth it!

  • @LaPeanut1018 - thanks!  I scheduled one for next week at a European Wax Center as folks have recommended, then will have one the week of the wedding (with plenty of time for healing).  I don't think I could squeeze one more in there, but at least I won't be a "virgin" when I go the week of my wedding.
