So DH is clinically obese.   So he is trying to take the steps to lose weight.  GREAT !     Today he had his first meeting with a weight lose doctor.  He came home with some prepared foods and things to do.  Great.

What is the problem you ask?   WE LEAVE ON VACATION NEXT WEEK TO NYC!  Not really a vacation but his sister's wedding.   Now mind you he has a list of 10 places he wants to eat, but we only have 4  open meals slots available.  The food at the wedding is going to be amazing and plentiful.

I don't mean to be a bitch, but why not start this on Sept 9th?  I know my husband.  He will be fine this week, go away, fall off the wagon and then take a few more weeks to get started again.

On another note they are power washing and then painting the exterior tomorrow and Wednesday.  Now I have to go outside and move all the furniture and then make sure I close all the windows tomorrow morning.  I like fresh air, I don't want to close me windows for 2 days  :-(

I hate diets, though I need to drastically change my eating habits once my chemo is done.

I am in pain today. It sucks. I am trying not to take any pain meds because I just don't like the way they make me feel.

On a better note, my dad sent me Tastykakes today! All my favs from back home. When I called to thank him, I broke out into tears from the steroids. So, I sounded like a fool. Lol

When I had my lumpectomy, the meds they gave me made me really emotional. When I woke up, I asked all the nurses to come into my room and sobbed at all of them about how nice they were, and how safe they made me feel, and how I really hoped I lived so I could thank them all. It was awkward times. You are not alone in your foolishness!

I am terrible at sticking to diets/eating changes. I do really good for a few weeks and then fall of the wagon. I wish I could just eat kale and all that super healthy stuff without craving junk food like soda, chocolate and queso dip all the time.

I also need to cook at home and start taking lunch in to work more. No wonder I'm fluctuating weight when I eat at a mall food court almost everyday.

Try being able to order anything you want anytime you want.

Seriously, I think I will put lobster on the menu this week let me order some.  Next day flown in.  Of course I have to test out the food and presentation, right?

Oh look - "x" company has a new product out.  Let me see watch it tastes like.

Bob, make up a special tonight.    3 hours later, Bob let me test out that special you are creating.   Umm, needs a change.  An hour later, let me try it again.

Let me see how the new guy is doing? Off to the computer and put in a fake order for "x" to see if he is doing it correctly.

    That is DH's day, everyday.

I'm watching the Emmys. With a giant bowl of pasta since I decided to ditch the diet after the wedding. I have months worth of carbs to catch up on!

Yes! She is just so lovely and statuesque and funny and smart and I totally have a girlcrush on her.

Also, the Bryan Cranston/Julie Louis-Dreyfus kiss was AWESOME! I'm dying over here!

I'm not a Mindy fan in general. There's something about her that bugs me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Did you see the shock on JR's face? I don't think she expected them to do that little bio/summary right then.

I'm watching Twitter (and Lainey Gossip) watch the Emmys.

I'm so tired of Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory.

I think that's the really hard thing about diets, right? They're lifestyle changes. It's something he will have to do on vacations, too, moving forward. I'd talk to the doctor about ways to manage temptations like vacations. (And let me know what they say because I have a hard time with food!) Also, I think the power washing is an excellent excuse to stay-cation at a hotel!

1 week in and going to your favorite city to go to your sister's wedding with all your family and friends who you haven't seen in 6 months  and will not see again until who knows when with all your favorite childhood restaurants is going to set him up for failure.   I know him.  He is not that strong yet.

Had he started this diet even 30 days ago I would be singing a different tune.  His body and mind would be getting use to the changes.

That makes sense. Honestly, I think it would take me much longer than 30 days to be able to take a trip like that and not cave. I hope he's able to get back on it once you're home.

    Gaaahhhh I'd be pissed!

Without spoilers - anyone know what book the series is up to? I'm not watching the TV series and am almost done with Feast for Crows. I have no idea where that matches up to the rest of the world watching TV and I'm afraid to google.

From what I read before, I believe they are on book 3. Not sure though. Can't Google in case I stumble on more spoilers. I swear I'll scratch my eyes out if that happens again.

Yes, they more or less finished the third book in the most recent season.

Yup. And book four sucked, so I hope they do a combo book 4/book 5 for the next season.

I hope it's not a spoiler, but book 4 and book 5 take place chronologically at the same time, but book 4 only has about half the POV and barely any of my favourite characters were POV for book 4.
