I'm a guest at a wedding in a few weeks. It's for an old middle school friend of mine. I was super skinny in middle/high school and now that I have a desk job (and I'm not in high school anymore), I've gained a bunch of weight. We are talking going from a 4 to an 8. For me, it's a lot and I'm insecure about it. I gained pretty much all the weight in my extremities and my ass. I still have a small waist and decent boobs. I'm 5'7" so I don't usually like to wear big heels with anything.
So the question is... do y'all have dress suggestions based on that body type and not wanting to accentuate the areas where I've gained weight? If I go with something short, I want to be able to wear tights and/or boots. It's a fall wedding in the northeast, so this should be feasible.

Re: Need suggestions - dress for a guest
Its in upstate New York and pretty casual. I used to live in NJ right outside NYC so I know how formal those weddings are and its not at all that formal. The bride has been bouncing wedding ideas off me during planning and I know its supposed to be like lawn games casual. So I'm pretty confident boots (not saddle boots but like nice heeled ones) and tights with a dress wouldheeled...but talk me out of it if you think it's not cool.

Or this? It's black but there are similar options in color if that's a factor:

It is a day time wedding so I think the boots would be OK but I'm definitely going with this now. Thanks!!!
