Can I panic yet? 50 days and dresses are MIA

I posted a few weeks ago about my dresses not arriving when they were supposed to.  Well, after a lot of back and forth with the store, I was told they would definitely be here this Monday or Tuesday.  When they weren't here Tuesday, I was told they were 100% sure they would be in today. Well..here we are...it's 50 days before my wedding and still no dresses.  I ordered them last November (mine and my BMs), and all the store told me was that they would call the manufacturer tomorrow morning and be in touch.

The shop has been rather rude to me on the phone and made it difficult for me to have any lengthy conversation about my frustration or alleviate my concerns.  I feel at a loss, and I'm terrible at being assertive.  I'm always polite and don't think yelling at them will make my dress appear anyway.  Please help me :(

  • What store is this? Is it a local shop or a name brand?

I would suggest going into the store so that you can speak with them in person that way you can speak to someone in person directly. People have a harder time in person avoiding confrontation.

Good luck and give us an update!

  • Birdybride is completely right.  Just walk in and speak to someone (preferably manager) in person.  Make an appointment if need be.  Otherwise, is there a particularly assertive BM who could call for you?  I really hope they come in tomorrow.

Also, feel free to visit Yelp or any other website that rates businesses (also check Facebook for this) and give them a really terrible review once your dresses arrive.  They should know that this is a stressful issue for the majority of brides, and be more tactful in how they treat you.  That said, I've heard that some bridal designers can be very hard to work with on issues like these - poor communication, or extensive excuses.  Ask what the process has been like dealing with the company who makes the dresses and feel free to leave them poor reviews too.  The dresses really shouldn't take 10 months; particularly BM dresses.

    Good luck!
